I think the article didn't mention Sony.
Yes, I remember that moment and I must confess I didn't enjoy it. But that gag involving Gargamel and the champagne bucket in the first movie was even much worse. What is usual in cartoons such as Ren & Stimpy or Billy and Mandy's Grim Adventures isn't good for both Smurf cartoons and movies. ![[Azrael]](graemlins/azrael.gif)

Understandable, still loved Lost Village despite the chalkbord scene.
Yeah, that was definitely much worse. For me, my favorite things from the live action movies were the interactions with some of the characters. For example the scene where Smurfette hugs Vexy always gets to me. I tend to enjoy those scenes a lot more.
It's worth noting I haven't seen Smurfs 2 until after seeing Lost Village, funnily enough I bought the game for Wii U before seeing the movie, being a Smurfs thing. I think mom rented Smurfs 1 years ago, at the time I wasn't into the Smurfs. I pretty much own both movies now, also came in a pack with A Christmas Carol and Smurfy Hollow.

Yes, SmurfyDash, friendship and union scenes have always been constant in the Smurf movies like in Smurf cartoons. An example? The scene when Smurfette gives her life to save everysmurf and becomes a blue clay form again reminded me Ducky's death (The Smurfs Springtime Special) at once. I felt moved as well at that moment... I loved the Lost Village mostly because Peyo's work was carefully studied, getting a meticulous and great result. The several references taken from original comics came to our eyes (like a little observation game inserted in the movie) such as Farmer's scarecrow wearing King Smurf's crown and clothes. And Gargamel's pet bird Monty was inspired by the terrible Howlibird - to mention something. I agree with you: no doubt it was worth watching it! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

That scene always makes me cry Squeaky, even a bit more when she comes back. Just showed that Smurf Village and Smurfy Grove loved Smurfette as a friend. Even Smurfstorm was sad, she just was suspicious of her.
What Smurfette did to save them, and seeing her come back help make her my favorite smurf.
I caught the scarecrow after seeing a making of featurette about returning to Peyo's work. Now I think about that scene every time I watch King Smurf. I thought of Monty when I saw the Howlibird.
Of Peyo's works, I did pick up The Smurfette from my local book store. So far, it's mostly been the 80's cartoon on DVD for me.
Indeed, I find myself putting on the movie a few times a week. I loved this movie so much.

The next Smurfs plot: the village behind the wall 2 ":
The river that borders the girls' village suddenly dried up. Accompanied by Brainy, Clusmy and Hefty Smurf, some of them are dispatched to understand the origin of this phenomenon. What will they discover? What new danger will hover over the group? Is not the greatest threat rather the enmity that seems to grow between Stormy and Blossom?

Smurfblossom?! Why does this remind me of the original cartoon from when they thought Brainy was a turncoat? This might the same that Blossom had done nothing wrong. And the Growlers returning? This is gonna be fun!!!

A good sign that Papercutz isn't abandoning the Smurfs as of yet. There was problems with The Smurf Reporter's release date disappearing, then reappearing as September 2018, then disappearing again, then reappearing again.

There's a fan translation (I call it an adaptation) of "The Smurf Reporter" here on this site, that you may want to check out.

I really enjoyed The Lost Village a lot! So much better than the first live-action film (haven't seen the second).I'm hoping for a sequel, but even if there isn't one, I plan on reading the new comics with the Lost Village girls. They look neat and I'm especially excited to read the story where Clumsy gets his own dragonfly! <3
