Afternoon all.
Anyone got any ideas what this one is all about? Looks and feels like a regular smurf but cast in a purple rubber with a painted spanner. Has the normal markings on the foot.

 20012 Green Smurf Mechanic
 Schleich - W. Germany - Peyo
 Blue Mechanic Smurf
 White Mechanic Smurf
 Yellow Mechanic Smurf
 Green Mechanic Smurf
Like Squeaky expressed, your cute purple Smurf is a Raw Smurf, also known as a Rohlinge Smurf. These Smurfs are one solid color. They are not painted a solid color but rather the PVC or rubber is actually injected into the mold as a solid color other than white. Sometimes they have the eyes and mouth painted. Sometimes they have limited paint like your purple mechanic with the wrench painted as well. There are many different solid colors of Smurfs out there! Some have the authentic markings like "Schleich" & "Peyo" and others are simply without markings.
Rohlinge means "blank" in German.
Thanks for sharing the photo!

A little more about the 20012 Smurf Mechanic...
Schleich 20012 Smurf Mechanic - Variations
20012 Smurf Mechanic - Green Coveralls & Gray Wrench
20012 Smurf Mechanic - Black Wrench
The most common of the Mechanic Smurf figure by Schleich is the one wearing the green coveralls and holding a gray wrench. The one with the black wrench is also a well known variation but less common of the two.

CNT Smurf Mechanic - Orange Pants & Black Wrench
There are Comic Non Toxico (CNT) versions of the Smurf Mechanic that wear orange clothes - either orange pants or orange coveralls. Both hold the black wrench.

Knockoff Smurf Mechanic - Gold Wrench
There are knock off or "fake" Mechanic Smurfs with either a gold wrench or silver wrench. They have very thin black suspenders.

 Jubilee Smurf Mechanic
The Jubilee Smurf Mechanic has the year 1970 stamped in gold on the back of his head. There are only 19 different Smurfs in this set so he had quite the honor to be chosen as one of the Jubilee Smurfs, also known as, "Die Jubel Schlumpfe - 20 Jahre Schlumpfe".

I was trying to do a bit more research on this figure but it's proving difficult. The only mention I can find is a very old thread on the Blue Cavern forum - where it seems like it's something sought after. Not sure if that forum is still active. Anyone able to offer anything more on the history of this particular figure?
