Inspired by this image:

I been redesigning the Smurfs in a more realistic way! I will make some changes (for example: the "clothes" being part of their body doesn't work, especially for the girls). This will include:
Standard male Smurf
Papa Smurf
Smurfette (un-Smurfy)
Smurfette (true blue)
Sassette (un-Smurfy)
Sassette (true blue)
And as tribute to Vic George... Empath and Polaris

Sorry, but I don't want Empath and Polaris looking like anthropomorphic cats. The live-action version of the Smurfs is what I'm hoping to have my characters appear in the form of, since that form best communicates what my story series and my character is about. Empath is raised in a cult-like group and basically sees the Smurfs as being a perverted group of savages -- or at least that's how he saw them until Papa Smurf came and set him straight about what the Smurfs really are. A cartoonish interpretation WOULD NOT get the point across as far as expressing the physical carnality that Empath and Polaris had to deal with.

Here's my first Smurf - just a typical male Smurf! Like I said, I don't know how to make the mushroom parts of the realistic photoshop Smurf image work as clothing so I changed it to moss hence the lines on the clothes! The picture didn't have ears so I took inspiration from "Avatar" and the Na'vi.

My answer is still NO. You're NOT using Empath and Polaris in that fashion.

Fine... use them in your "realistic" style! They'll just look like plushes anyway!

My imagined real-life Smurfs DO NOT look like animated plushes, and they DO NOT look like cats.

Think about it, George! How are Sony's live-action Smurfs anyway "realsitic"? Just ask the Nostalgia Critic!

You do not understand. This is my saying, "Case closed." I am NOT having anymore to do with this thread. You can speak to anyone else who is interested, but for me, I'm done with it. Any further responses from this point onward will be considered ignored and unread by me.

"Stupid, trusting Smurfs! You're mine now!" - Smurfette, Sony's Smurfs 2 (i.e the "Smurfette Unmade" nightmarish remake section)
Here she is! My sweet Smurfettte... back before she was sweet! I decide to go with artificial/fake Smurf angel hence why despite the shorter dress, I didn't draw a tail. I also made her dress patchwork to sent home the "fake Smurf" message! It was going to be paper but I decided to go with patchwork fabric instead since it symbolizes that she is Gargamel's creation. And speaking of family resemblance, I was thinking of giving Smurfette Azreal's ears. They aren't present in this picture because I don't know how to incorporate them!

How can I put this?
Your version of the re-imagining looks okay... and I respect that.

I'm glad you respect that, MG! So... how would you redesign the Smurfs based on inspiration I've given? I mean, it's hard to design female Smurfs using how they portray the "clothes" hence why I changed it to clothes made out of moss (or pathwork fabric in Smurfette's pre-Smurfy case)!

Obviously, I'd base my designs off on the first two Sony movies. ![[Happy Smurf]](graemlins/Happy_Smurf.gif)

Okay... I'll take a break from female before designing Smurfette's post-transformation appearance and back to males! Luckily, this one acts as a transition...

Another problem with the redesigns is that I can't draw whiskers without them looking like cartoonish mustaches! Luckily, this works as Papa's favour! Like I said, I think it's fair to use this as a transition since she transformed Smurfette into the blonde, blue, beautiful girl we all know and love! And yes, the clothes are made of moss hence the lines on them!

And here she is! The blond and blue beauty herself as well... a blond and blue beauty! I gave her an open mouth to symbolize the cheerful and sweet nature Smurfette always has... not counting when Gargamel first created her!

And here are my final three redesigned Smurfs and one Psyche...

For Sassette, I based her Un-Smurfy self after what we got in the cartoon and Vexy (and yes, I believe Vexy and Sassette to be the same character). For her Smurfy self, I based it off her appearance in the comics!
For Empath and Polaris, I decided to leave the lines out and have their clothes be made from the fabric used by the Psyches. Just... you know, dyed!
And speaking of Polaris, I didn't just redesigned him, I re-imagined him! You see, I embracing the Borg inspiration of the Psyches by giving Polaris tech-lines. I also gave him a scar to symbolize both the fact that he's a Smurf clone (taking inspiration from Kaine) and well as his exile.
I gave Empath star a shine, making it more crystalize which was inspired by Emma Frost of the X-Men comics. Polaris, on the other hand, has his scar uncoloured and just a shape of his forehead. Again, symbolizing that he is a Smurf clone and a... imperfect one at that!
As for how Pysches are misinformed about Smurfs as "Savage beings", well... It makes senses since this portrays the Smurfs as how the Psyches are taught to portray them... as savage beings!
