i just watched an episode with baby in it, i don't know if he or she is a boy or girl. Do they ever say what the baby is? Papa and the other smurfs just called it "baby".

Most of us assumed the baby is a boy. But you're right, the episodes never reveal whether this baby is a boy or girl...hmm...all the more mysterious, indeed! ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

Sassette was a 'fake smurf' because she was made from gargamels formula, and Smurfette was made from gargamel's magic..so the two youngish female smurfs are fake smurfs per se. So the stork did not and could not have brought them..they were made by gargamel and his magic.
But Nanny Smurf is a real smurf no? So she could have been brought by the stork. That means that Baby Smurf may be a girl!

You may be right, if we only could know where that stork brought baby from, maybe it would be a lot easier to find out the true about Baby`s origin, and finally determine if he is a boy or girl...But we will never discover where that stork brought him from, that deepens the enigma of real Smurfs origin...

If Baby Smurf were a girl, the character would be drawn in such a way to make that particular distinction, would it not?

Well i did not say that Baby is a girl, i just wanted to say that in my shy opinion, we will never discover if Baby is a boy or girl.

Well hey Baby is just a little baby in baby clothes. You can't tell one way or the other!! Just like real babies unless the parents put the baby in a pink dress or typical boy clothes you can't always tell what the gender is!!!
