Okay, If Gargamel made Smurfette, why couldn't he have made some more Smurfs for his personal comsumption? [Confused]

To be sure, Gargamel didn't create a real Smurf when he originally created Smurfette, as far as I can tell from the cartoon show episode that introduced her. One of the things her "un-Smurfy self" couldn't do was find the village; she would require the assistance of a real Smurf to do that! It was Papa Smurf who ended up changing her into a real Smurf.

Yes, but I think what DPuthoff42 is asking, is why doesn't Gargamel just create his own Smurfs which he would eat?

Probably because only Papa Smurf knows the spell for turning magically-created Smurfs into real Smurfs?

He created the Smurfette from clay. And almost everyone knows that if you eat clay, you'd get poisoned.

She was still a clay figure that was given life.
