Notice!: Despite the title of this roleplay there aren’t any actual graveyards involved. The title is actually referring to a work shift that takes place late at night.
RP Concept: Some unknown creature keeps on eating all of the village’s crops in the middle of the night. Through the process of random selection Scaredy Smurf is selected to be the lookout.
Allowed Characters: I’m not super familiar with The Smurfs franchise yet. So I’m not entirely sure which characters are in which seasons/comics. Just feel free to use whoever within reason. For example you might not want to use a character with only one appearance. The only characters your not allowed to use are any characters that are exclusive to the live action movies, Smurfs: The Lost Village, the 2021 TV series, or anyone else that doesn’t appear in either the comics or the 1981 TV series (also I know that they show up in the some of the newer comics but please don’t use any of The Smurfs from the girl village. I just wanna keep my first RP in this fandom relatively simple).
RP Tone: Keep it family friendly. Minor amounts of cartoon violence are fine as far as I’m concerned but please no blood or gore. Also absolutely no cussing or anything suggestive.
Alright then. Let’s get started.
*The episode starts with Farmer being awoken in the middle of the night by strange sounds coming from his fields*
Farmer: What? Huh? What’s smurfing on? What’s happening?
*Farmer quickly gets up out of bed and runs out to the fields to see the startling sight of a shadowy creature munching away at his crops.*
Farmer: Holy smurf! What is that thing? It’s… it’s smurfing all of my crops! I need to do something!
*But before Farmer could do anything the creature had already fled off into the trees.*
Farmer: *chases the creature* Hey! Smurf back here! Stop!
*But by the time Farmer reached the spot where the creature had once been it was already long gone.*
Farmer: This isn’t good. That thing smurfed a lot of important crops. I better tell the others in the morning.
*Farmer went back to bed and by the next morning he was standing in the middle of the village telling everyone about what he had seen.*
Farmer: I’m telling you all there was a large thing that smurfed a lot of my crops last night! It was the most strange thing I had ever smurfed my eyes on! It seemed to have big long tentacles, four thin lanky arms, and it smurfed like a muddy swamp! I could barely stand the stench!

Farmer: But it’s not a prank! And I’m smurfing the truth! If you want proof then just take a look at my crops!
*Farmer points towards the direction of his crops.*
Clumsy: Well I suppose that at least one of us should go smurf it out.
*Clumsy leaves towards Farmer’s fields and then runs back a few minutes later, tripping a couple times as he ran.*
Clumsy: Farmer was right! Something has definitely been smurfing his crops! A lot of them have bite marks in them!
Farmer: See, I told you all! There’s some creature or maybe even a monster out there smurfing my crops!

Farmer: I know what I smurfed! And that monster definitely didn’t look like any crow I have ever seen! I doubt that a simple scarecrow would smurf it off!
Clumsy: *raising his hand* Maybe Gargamel is the monster.
Farmer: Clumsy, with all due smurfspect since when did Gargamel have tentacles and four arms? Plus he doesn’t know where the village is and the monster wasn’t big enough to be Gargamel anyways. And if it was Gargamel then he would have been capturing Smurfs rather than smurfing my crops.

Farmer: I’m sure as I can be Smurfette! We need to do something to keep this monster away from my crops or we’ll be smurfpletely out of food within a week!
Clumsy: But how do we do that? We don’t even know what smurfxactly this monster even is.
Farmer: I’m not certain Clumsy but if we all put our smurfs to it then I’m sure that we can think of something.
*Everyone scratches their heads in contemplation.*

Brainy: Smurfette, Smurfette, Smurfette, Papa Smurf will find this very preposterous. After all, there's no such thing as a Smurf-sized creature with tentacles and just randomly eats crops.

*Everyone runs to Handy’s house.*
Farmer: Handy! Are you okay? What the smurf happened?
*Handy was laying in his bed with a bandage around his head.*
Handy: Ugh… hardly! I was woken up in the middle of the night by a strange noise. I went outside to check it out and saw this strange… thing smurfing away with some vegetables and stuff. I tried to get a closer look but then it noticed me and smurfed me out cold!
Farmer: See, I told you all there was a monster!

Farmer: Well then what are we all smurfing for? Let’s go tell Papa Smurf what’s going on!
*They all head to Papa Smurf and tell him about the monster and everything it had done last night.*
Papa Smurf: Hmm… I must say that I have never heard of such a creature. But we must smurftect Farmer’s crops all the same. Without them there will be no food and we’ll all go hungry and starve.
Farmer: So how do we stop it Papa Smurf?
Papa Smurf: It’s quite simple my little Smurfs. One of you will need to keep watch over the crops all night to make sure that this creature doesn’t smurf them!
Farmer: Wait… all night!
Papa Smurf: Yes, I am afraid that one of you will have to stay up all night smurfing the crops.
*None of the Smurfs are particularly keen on spending all night watching a field and they start arguing on who should have the task.*
Papa Smurf: Enough! If none of you can agree on who should be the lookout then I will simply smurf one of you at random. Does that sound fair to everysmurf?
*Everyone nods their heads.*
Papa Smurf: Alright then… *covering his eyes and pointing from one Smurf to another* eeny, meeny, miny, moe, catch a smurfling by the toe. If they holler let them go. Eeny, meeny, miny, you!
*Papa Smurf stops moving his finger around and opens his eyes to see that he has landed on Scaredy.*
Papa Smurf: Scaredy, you will be the one to watch over the crops and smurftect them from anything that might try to smurf them tonight.

Papa Smurf: Well Scaredy if you insist then I suppose that I could pick another-
*Papa Smurf is suddenly cut off by Farmer.*
Farmer: Hold on Papa Smurf, I don’t mean to be rude but you did say that whoever you smurfed would be the lookout. You landed on Scaredy smurf and square.
Papa Smurf: I suppose I did. Although please do wait for me to finish next time Farmer. *talking to Scaredy* Sorry Scaredy but I’m afraid that it simply wouldn’t be fair to the other Smurfs to just pick somebody else. Now I recommend that you go to bed right away so you’ll have plenty of energy for watching Farmer’s fields tonight.

Clumsy: Come on Scaredy. Maybe it won’t be that bad. The monster might not even show up.
Farmer: And if it does you can smurf my spare farming hoe to defend yourself with. The monster wasn’t really that smurfy. It was just sort of weird looking. This shouldn’t be too hard.
Papa Smurf: Smurfxactly! Your fellow Smurfs will help you prepare for lookout duty Scaredy. With their help this should be a fairly simple job. So smurf on back home and get some rest now. You can go meet Farmer in his field at smurfdown. He’ll give you the proper equipment and tell you what to do.

Papa Smurf: That’s the spirit Scaredy! Now smurf along home and get some rest. You have a long day… er… I mean night ahead of you. Everysmurf else can smurf back to business as usual.
*All of the other Smurfs disperse and go back to what they were previously doing.*

*As he is watching the fields he recalls what Farmer had told him earlier.*
*Begin flashback.*
Farmer: Alright Scaredy it’s smurfdown and night will be upon us at any moment. As promised you can borrow my spare farming hoe to smurfend yourself with.
*Farmer hands Scaredy his hoe.*
Farmer: Also Clumsy brought over this lantern for you that Handy made before the monster smurfed his head. You can use it to see the fields better.
*Farmer hands Scaredy the lantern.*
Farmer: Now your job is simple. All you have to do is smurf around the fields and keep a close smurf on the crops. And if you see anything up to and including the monster then you should smurf it off. Just keep doing that until smurfrise. Well that’s basically it, I’m gonna smurf off to bed now. Good luck Scaredy.
*Farmer heads off towards his house.*
*End of flashback.*
*That was a while ago and now it’s the middle of night. The only light sources being the faint glow of the full moon in the sky and the small flame lit within Scaredy’s lantern.*
