(Fortunately the storm had passed, and they get to the Smurfs' boat with no problem. Smurfette was the first to see them.)
Smurfette: Papa Smurf, look! It's Marina, and she rescued Handy!
Papa Smurf (intrigued): Yes... But who's that merman who is with them?
Urchin (gets closer the boat, making a presumptuous gesture): Allow me to introduce myself, dear Smurfs: I'm Prince Urchin, from the Deep Gray Ocean... and future husband of Princess Marina!
(Everysmurf stares at him in surprise.)

Urchin (same): Oh, more the pity! I'd love so much to see all of you Smurfs (casting a glance at Handy until unconscious) at our wedding as special guests!
(Hearing that provocation, Smurfette's blue face becomes crimson and she tries to get the bucket again. Papa Smurf holds her arm gently, while shaking his head.)
Marina (angrily, to Urchin): You've got already what you wanted, Urchin. Please stop that and go away, now!
Urchin: Yes, but not without you, my dear Marina. (Imperious) Let's go! (To the Smurfs) Farewell, Smurfs... and tell Handy that deep in my heart I hope he'll recover from... OUCH!!!
(For Smurfette, this was really the last straw.)
(He rubs his head and tries to get back, but Marina prevents him.)
Marina: It serves you right! Now let's go back to my father's castle and see him.
(They depart quickly, leaving the Smurfs completely devastated.)

Brainy: For once, I have to agree with Smurfette, Papa Smurf. He deserved a smurf on the head for playing with our emotions, mainly Handy's.

Papa Smurf (alarmed): Great Smurfs, that's right, let's see him at once!

Papa Smurf (appearing after leaving Handy's house): I know just how you all feel because of Handy's sadness, my Smurfs. But at the moment I don't think it's a good idea smurfing even with that wicked merman.
Grouchy: I HATE that wicked merman!
Smurfette: You are right, Papa Smurf... Just because we can't help getting indignant indeed! By the way, how's Handy smurfing now?
Papa Smurf: I smurfed him a tranquilizing tea and now he's sleeping.
Brainy (concerned): Papa Smurf, sooner or later Handy will have to know the true reason why Marina can't meet him again!
Papa Smurf (disheartened): Yes, Brainy... And the worst part is that I don’t know how long I’ll smurf this secret.

Papa Smurf: That's just what has worried me so much, Smurfette. I'm terribly afraid of what Handy would try to do to save Marina by himself if he knew all the truth.
Dreamy: Well, we know already that Urchin is smurfing Marina to marry him, Papa Smurf. But what we don't know yet is whether King Aquarius approves it or not!
Papa Smurf: I'm quite smurfsure he'd never make Marina marry someone against her will. Personally I suspect that evil merman prince is blacksmurfing him.

Urchin: Those Smurfs had to get in my way, especially Marina's sickly lover! That storm I sent should've ended him! Perhaps I'll find a way to take him out of the picture for good! Then Marina will have to marry me, she won't be able to go crying to her lovebird! Once I take her hand in marriage, I'll take over her father's kingdom and rule it with an iron fist!
