In an interview, Meghan described the song as an upbeat, love yourself, woman anthem. Meghan also said that, "I love the Smurfs and was honored when they asked me to write a song for this new movie. I was especially excited I wrote the whole thing in one evening!

The deal with their faces is that they're nervous and maybe a little scared about these new creatures/Smurfs behind the masks, and also Gargamel, that's why.
