That's right, Century. And besides going on to catch the Smurfs, Gargamel turned to hate them after they rescued the Smurf he had captured. He never conformed to be defeated by small creatures that he would consider so insignificant. Squeaky, my point was that Gargamel did not learn about the smurfs in sorcery school, because he was already a wizard when he found out about them in a book. So, unfortunately, the new movie, like many others, will not be true to the book. But I'm still looking forward to Get Smurfy!

well actually gargamel came across the smurfs by seeing one of them i dont remember which one but yah and he looked it up in his books and found out that it was a smurf and he could turn it into gold so umm thats the origin in the smurfs adventures but hey all the smurf stuff is told differently but as far as im aware the tv show tells it all in one of the episodes in the series.

I've been waiting for months for a teaser trailer! There's only about half a year until the movie comes out! I'm so excited!
And I agree, Redneck... I've really been wanting a movie where the smurfs actually stay in the village. The village is so cute!

Well, I have good news and bad news...
The good news is that we finally have an official plot summary for The Smurfs: The Lost Village. Here it is, according to IMDb:
"In this fully animated, all-new take on the Smurfs, a mysterious map sets Smurfette and her friends Brainy, Clumsy and Hefty on an exciting race through the Forbidden Forest leading to the discovery of the biggest secret in Smurf history."
It seems that in the new movie Smurfette (voiced by Demi Lovato) finds a map, which is probably depicting the mysterious "Lost Village" in the title of the movie. This lost village is probably not Smurf Village, but a different one that the smurfs will embark on a quest through the forest to find.
The bad news is that the release date has been postponed even further. The movie that was originally supposed to come out in 2015 now is planned to be released not on March 31st, 2017, but on April 7, 2017! This is not much later, thank smurfness, but I thought I had better inform everysmurf of the new release date.

A delay of only a week is hardly bad news. At least it isn't being pushed any farther into the year as to be like a dangling carrot that the production studio likes to dangle in front of everybody's nose to tease them. Having it being delayed up to two years past its original intended release year is enough of an annoyance. Hopefully the end result will be worth the delay.
