The silence continues and the group of Smurfs grow concerned.
Hefty: i- if you're not gonna answer us, we're gonna smurf in ourselves!
His words were met with more silence.
Hefty, beginning to panic: I mean it!!!
Nothing.
With an exasperated grunt, he throws the door open, only to be met with an empty house.

The other Smurfs came to see Brainy at the tree.
Smurfette: There you are! We forgot to give you your gifts!
Hefty: We were so caught up in feelin' bad for ya, we decided to make up for smurfing the decorations and party games! Oh, and for Greedy eatin' all the cake!
Greedy: I said I was sorry.
Hefty: Here! You can open my gift first!
Hefty gives Brainy his gift.
Brainy: Okay, if you insist.

Brainy (embarrassed): Don't take it bad, Hefty, but I'm afraid I'll never be able to smurf it as easily as you do!
Hefty: But this one is much lighter, so you can smurf with it everyday. Even for five minutes! Please, accept it, Brainy... if you still like me a bit.
Brainy (fighting against the will to cry): Alright, Hefty... Thanks a smurf. (They hug each other.)

(Back to the village, the Smurfs insist on Brainy to open the gifts.)
Clumsy: Huh, Brainy, now Painter and I are going to smurf our present!
Brainy (making an effort to smile): Painter and you together, Clumsy? Now it's something I'd like to see!
Painter: Mais oui! Clumsy smurfed ze raw material and I, ze final touch!
(Brainy opens the giftbox, intrigued, getting surprised at once: their present was a rock from Clumsy's collection, beautifully decorated by Painter Smurf!)
Brainy: B-but Clumsy... This rock is just your favorite!
Clumsy (happy): Gee, but just for that! You're my best friend, Brainy, so I make sure to smurf it to you as a gift!
Brainy (admiring it, moved): Thank you so much, Clumsy, you're really such a smurfy friend... And you too Painter, for the wonderful painting! I'll smurf it on my cabinet, as a paper weight.
Painter (smiling widely): Mon plaisir, cher ami Brainy! I'm very happy that you enjoyed it.
(The two hug Brainy, who sheds emotioned tears. After most of the Smurfs gave their gifts, three of them at last came, being one of these three... Jokey.

Jokey: But Brainy, this time is not any explosive giftbox of mine! Please, sorry for all of that... I've been very mean and incorrigible indeed, but this time is different! C'mon...
Papa Smurf: I only hope you are serious this time, Jokey!
Jokey: Oh no, Papa Smurf! This time is something quite... symbolic.
Brainy: Well... OK then, Jokey, but remember: you've been warned!
(Brainy opens the box cautiously, but instead of the usual big BOOM! his face gets... totally whitish!
Jokey: HAPPY SMURFDAY SURPRISE, BRAINY! HYUKHYUKHYUKHYUKHYUKHYUK!
Brainy (coughing and cleaning up his glasses): My, I should have imagined...
Smurfette (annoyed): Jokey Smurf, shame on you! Smurfing Baby Smurf's talcum powder for your surprise!
Jokey (still giggling): But, Smurfette, it's one of the first things we're given as babies, hence the symbolic surprise...
Brainy (rolling his eyes and shaking his head): Alright, Jokey: thanks a smurf for your... symbolism. Very clever of you, I must recognize!
Jokey (hugging Brainy): I'm sooo happy that you liked it after all! Here... (kissing Brainy on his face) SMOOOOOOOOCH!

Grouchy (approaching Brainy): I HATE SMOOOOOOOOCH! But I LOVE to see Brainy's smurfday party is smurfing along well at last! (He hugs Brainy strongly.)
(At last Greedy comes, carrying a very large tray.)
Greedy (constrained): I'm so sorry to have eaten your smurfday cake, Brainy... And if I didn't get to smurf another, it was just because the main ingredients are over. So, all I managed to smurf you was these... (He discovers the tray) smurfberry cookies!
Brainy (happy): Never mind, Greedy: you know that I'm very fond of them. (They hug each other) Papa Smurf, I've got an idea: do you have any all candle with you to smurf?
Papa Smurf: I must have, Brainy; I'll smurf for it in my lab.
Brainy (to Greedy): Smurf the tray with the cookies on the table and let's wait for Papa's return, Greedy.
(Papa Smurf gets back with the candle and gives it to Brainy, who sticks it on a cookie.)

Papa Smurf (severe): Greedy Smurf! You know perfectly the cookies weren't for you only!
Greedy (making an angelical expression): Er, sorry, Papa... Brainy... Smurfs... But wait, here's still the cookie with the candle! (He gives in it to Brainy.)
Handy (upset); I bet you didn't eat it just because of the candle!
Hefty (same): Yeah, candles are not edible, as you know.
Greedy (offended): None of that!! I saved it just for Brainy to smurf!
Brainy (sighing): Oh well, better than nothing. At least I can blow the candle...(He lits it.) Now, Smurfs... How about singing?
Handy (smiling): You don't have to smurf us twice, Brainy!
Smurfs (singing):
Happy Smurfday to you
Happy Smurfday to you
Happy Smurfday dear Brainy
Happy Smurfday to you!
(Brainy blows the candy.)

Smurfette: Now you can eat your smurfday cookie, Brainy.
Hefty (staring at Greedy): Yeah, since a certain Smurf couldn't resist temptation for the second time!
Brainy (looking at the cookie with delight after removing the candle): Well... (But then he sees Baby Smurf crawling in his direction; then he stops and reaches out to the cookie. Brainy looks both at him and at the cookie; then, after a pause, he smiles and gives Baby the cookie. The infant Smurf gives a happy cry and starts to relish it.)
Brainy (to the Smurfs in a lecturing but amusing way): After all, since I got smurfed by his talcum powder, nothing fairer than he gets my cookie! (The Smurfs laugh in approval.) (Turning to Papa Smurf) Papa Smurf, I must correct what I had smurfed some hours ago.
Papa Smurf (smiling): And may I know what it is, Brainy?
Brainy: THIS IS THE BEST SMURFDAY PARTY I'VE EVER HAD!
