Okay, well some of them are recent. I just noticed that the June, 2012 is visible on the bottom of the first Elton John picture up there. But it is recent in that this is the first time I've posted it.

Here is the drawing I made my mom for Mother's Day! It's Billy Joel, and my mom's a big fan of him like I am and The Stranger is her favorite album by him. I was wondering what yall think of it.

Here's the picture that I based it on, which is Billy Joel's album The Stranger:

I wasn't very proud with how the face on my last drawing came out, but I'd been trying and trying to make it look right. I decided to try working on my drawing further and I think I fixed it:

And here is a Billy Joel collage I made where I got a bunch of pictures and put them roughly in order of his life. I'm sure there are some mistakes in order, but I'm sure it's somewhat accurate. I also put the album or single covers in with a red border.

 -

(sorry it's really bad quality, but I had to shrink the picture a lot to make it fit on BB and I don't have any good programs on my computer to do that yet so I had to shrink it with paint)

In addition to Smurf fan art, I have developed my own original characters over the past several years. Many of them are Hawaii-themed, based on my trips to the islands in the past. Among them are "Ricki Lee & Tony", a young couple living with their biracial cousin Lisa (aka Cousin Lee) and all their kids in Honolulu.

 -

Ricki Lee's sitting down, her husband Tony is standing, and Cousin Lee is to the left.

There is also "Alpha Girl", a lovably nerdy Honolulu schoolgirl who gained superpowers after a lightning strike when she was younger. She was created in response to the popularity of Sailor Moon, but she looks a little like Atomic Betty.

 -

And finally, there is my newest animated character "Javier the Sloth", a likable three-toed sloth whose wit is infinitely faster than his moves.

 -

I started creating Smurf fan art this summer and it's unleashed a tsunami of creativity that I haven't had in several years. But these are some of my other characters. Just as Peyo had Steve Strong, Poussi the Cat and the Snorks, I have my own stable of characters as well.

You can see an entire gallery of these cartoons on my website www.newportmuse.com.

Have a smurfy day and thanks for reading.

Vexy is still my favorite Smurf. Tomboys need love, too. :)

My friends say that I'm the reincarnation of Dr. Seuss... I'm going to leave THAT up to you guys...

 -

So... Yes or no? Am I the new Dr. Seuss? Or are more pictures required to make a decision?
