3 days ago, did a year since I joined to Bluebuddies, and I must say that the Bluebuddies changed my life in an incredible way, had the great fortune to meet you all and see what all we have in common with the Smurfs. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and is symbolized with a pink ribbon. My aunt Aurora Rodriguez died from breast cancer back in 2009, so this is an important and personal issue with me every October. This year, I am using my cartoon talents to help the cause with a series of themed drawings starring our beloved Smurfette.
Let's Smurf This! - Smurfette is dressed in cute pink Las Vegas showgirl outfit, feathers and all, to encourage us to fight the good fight against this disease. She also wears a pink ribbon on her left shoulder. Her outfit is her way of honoring Kylie Minogue, the Australian pop icon who is a breast cancer survivor. Kylie wore an outfit like Smurfette's at the closing ceremony of the 2000 Sydney Summer Olympics, where she sang ABBA's signature song "Dancing Queen".
Cancer Just Smurfed with the Wrong Girl! - Echoing her catchphrase from the first Smurfs movie, Smurfette offers gentle support and encouragement to a brave cancer patient determined to smurf out the disease instead of the other way around. The little lady sheds a tear in empathy and sisterly love with her new friend.
A few more Pink Ribbon Smurfette cartoons are in the pipeline, including one with a Pink Ribbon Vexy--her tough, rebellious sister boldly wears pink for the cause, too!

Long time no see!
Richrod: Great drawings! They are very inspirational! That's a very good cause you're supporting, and Smurfette looks very cute in both of those pics.
Anyway, since we're getting very close to Halloween (As well as Jokey's birthday), here's a drawing called ghost stories, where Papa Smurf goes to the hills to tell Ghost stories.

Rich, I really love your breast cancer awareness pictures. They're beautiful. And I'll bet your aunt aurora is proud of you for working to raise awareness for it. Aurora is such a beautiful name. My mother had it just last year and survived. I was relieved. ♡

Hobby smurfling, your picture of papa at the camp fire is so warm and welcoming. I wish I was going camping or to a bonfire!

Okay, I'm probably going to get in trouble with some Smurf fans for this, but for what it's worth, here's my newest Smurf cartoon for my upcoming PDF e-book Sister of the Smurfette...
Vexy Brown and Black: My fan deviation of Vexy Smurf, with brown hair, meets her official version with black hair and bright blue freckles. Vexy is basically getting to know herself. She's learning to be her own best friend. She likes herself. She's all by herself but not alone, yada yada.
For those new to BlueBuddies, I recolored Vexy's hair brown in response to only her skin color changing in "The Smurfs 2" when she became a Smurf. I thought that was kinda lame on Sony's part. It was (and sometimes still is) a little controversial when fans see my deviated Vexy for the first time, but then warm up to my explanation after they learn of it.
