I didn't post it. Yahoo posted it on their own website, I just copied and pasted the link on here, and someone else must've embedded the video in my post.

I had to watch this twice before giving my consensus of it.
Neil Patrick Harris - Good! Hank Azaria as Gargamel - Good! Smurfs - I'll get back to you on that one! Voices for The Smurfs - Didn't like Grouchy sounding like Comedian Jackie Mason.
Will still go and see it regardless.

This trailer will premiere right before Columbia's "BATTLE: LOS ANGELES" as well as Disney's "Mars Needs Moms" in 3D along with the new "Cars 2" trailer in 3D.

I think the preview is cute. It is hard to get used to the new voices because I'm so familiar with the old cartoons (especially Grouchy for some reason) but I am still very much looking forward to the movie! The Gargamel actor is great too!

Woohoo... seeing the trailer was fun! I'm more excited than ever to see The Smurfs Movie. Yes, the Smurfs are "modern" but I wouldn't expect them to make the movie in the old-style cartoons. Only the die-hard fans would want to see that. This movie is made to appeal to a much bigger audience. Hank Azaria is fantastic as Gargamel!
For example, I loved the 1980's Alvin & the Chipmunks cartoon and was not expecting much when it came to the movie. But I must admit I actually enjoyed that movie! (I realize that not everyone did though). It feels like they are giving Smurfette a Brittany Chipette type personality. I don't expect the Smurf movie characters to be like the 80s cartoon that I know and love... but I'm going into this 3D Smurfs Movie with an open mind. And I am just soooo excited that we are actually getting a SMURF MOVIE after all these years!!!
I also thought that Gutsy Smurf had a great voice. Did anyone else like Gutsy's voice?

Well, Sassette, the first thing I should do is catch the trailer before "Mars Needs Moms" in 3D. That is... right after I plan Mom & Dad to see "Rango". But if this trailer debuts before "Mars Needs Moms", we're seeing it in 3D. I must keep my viewing of this trailer to minimum before I see the movie. Are the new voices not too high or not too low? (just right.) And I hope you download screenshots of the Smurfs themselves, so I can see how they'll look like. I only saw a quick glimpse of the CGI Smurfs in the Macy's Holiday plush commercial. Well, I guess this trailer can be the answer to how they're going to look & sound like. See you tomorrow! - From BlueTiger10!

I did, Sassette! It really fits that tough guy like a glove. Yet Grouchy's, I agree with Swarlock, I didn't like it very much. It sounded to me too harsh, like an old man's. I enjoyed this new trailer and I envied Jayma May's character rocking little Clumsy in her arms (SIGH) (though I have found the poor one falling into the toilet a little too much, OMG); both Gargy bumping against a car's rear window and Azrael's usual snarling laugh (very good effects) cracked me up!! Positively Mr. Azaria is a perfect Gargamel! I'm nearly sure the Smurf who appears on 1:10 riding Feathers can only be Nat, though he looks not to be a Smurfling yet. ![[Wild Smurf]](graemlins/Wild_Smurf.gif)

This is a great trailer! Katy perry smurfette' voice is better than of what in cartoon series. Brainy is just as cute and friendly as ever and performance of fred armisen has capture the original and make it better! Gutsy voice is top-notch by alan cumming! There's only one that i don't like is grouchy' voice performance by george lopez he's sounds so unappealing and not comes close to grouchy' role. others smurfs are all great. Hank azaria almost perfect as gargamel! I have to say i watch this trailer so many times it so fun to watch especially the last scene!

Here are some Smurf Movie screenshots!

 Grouchy Smurf
 Smurf Surprise!
Grouchy's voice needs to grow on me... it's just so different than what we're used to. It also seems that they made Grouchy's personality more a curmudgeon "smart-aleck" (ie. sarcastic remarks) than actually just grouchy and hating everything.
Squeaky, I thought that looked like Nat Smurf flying on the bird (Feathers) too!

Hey, Sassette! Thanks for the screenshots! The way the Smurfs were inside the box, they freaked out as I thought in pictures. In "Hop", after E.B. got hit by a car, he says, "You know, we ought to let the insurance out of this." And James Marsden who was the first to see E.B. alive, screamed like this: "OOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" Probably today, I'll find this trailer right before "Mars Needs Moms!", but Mom and Dad would rather see "Rango" though, because we thought it would be a fun movie with Johnny Depp in the title role, and it is an animated western. Either way, I'm sure I'll find this trailer in theaters today (or where else will I see it on since there is no trailer before "Rango"? Say like on YouTube... Maybe iTunes... Maybe something else...). Thanks for the screenshots! And see "HOP" on April Fool's Day 2011!!! P.S.- My documentary will be underway ready by my birthday this year! So get your uploads ready! P.P.S.- And if you like this movie, you will love the new "Harry Potter" exhibition at the Times Square Discovery Channel exhibition center. See-ya, Sassette! from BlueTiger10!

I thought that smurf riding Feathers was Nat too, but if you look closely, I think it's actually Farmer, but dressed like this instead of how he looked in the show.

 Farmer Smurf
Well spotted, Rocker Smurf! I just assumed it was Nat the first time I saw it. You are correct - that's definitely Farmer Smurf with the straw hat and green coveralls. Smurfy thanks!!! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

No problem, Sassette! It looks like they might be going with the earlier designs for the smurfs, possibly from the original comic books. If that's true then I would expect Handy to be wearing blue overalls in the movie rather than white as in the cartoon.

I wonder which other Smurfs will make an appearance in the movie?
In this screenshot from the new movie trailor, there are many little Smurfs flying around when Gargamel uses his powers for evil!

Wow! More screenshots! Well, I'll be able to see the trailer before "Mars Needs Moms!". Although, Mom and Dad would most likely see "Rango". This scene where Gargamel is using his powers to attack the Smurfs was at Belvedere Castle. It looks like a similar wizard battle scene in Disney-Jerry Bruckheimer's film, "The Sorcerer's Apprentice" directed by Jon Turtletaub and starring Nicolas Cage and Jay Baruchel.

It will be awesome! I can hardly wait! Thanks, Sassette!!

It is interesting to note that the Smurfs have blue eyes as opposed to dark eyes as depicted in the original comic books, 1976 animated film, and cartoon series. Also, by looking at the voice cast that Greedy will not be a combination of two characters (Greedy and Cook) in the cartoon series, but the food thief of the comic book.
Even after watching the full trailer a few times, I am still skeptical and I am unsure whether I will like this film adaptation.

In my EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf fanfiction stories, I created Nabby to be the analog of the original comic book Greedy Smurf, with the additional character trait of being a kleptomaniac who has the tendency of taking what doesn't belong to him from other Smurfs without them knowing about it.
Anyway, having seen the trailer, the humor does seem to come off as a bit more adult in flavor, even with Smurfette doing Marilyn Monroe's famous skirt blowing upward scene when standing on top of an air vent.

If you ever seen this trailer, probably see "Doogal". It's an American re-dub of "The Magic Roundabout" from The Weinstein Company in 2006. Originally released in the UK in 2005. Starring Jon Stewart as Zee-Bad; William H. Macy as Brian the Snail; Whoopi Goldberg as Ermintrude the Cow; Jimmy Fallon as Dylan the Rabbit; Chevy Chase as the Train; Bill Hader as Soldier Sam; Kevin Smith as the Moose; Kylie Minogue as Florence; and Daniel Tay as Doogal the dog. Find out more at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0763304/ This is a picture of how Smurfette and Gusty get their skirts blown upward influenced / spoofed by Marilyn Monroe in "Seven Year Itch" (1955). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0048605/ In "Spirited Away", when Haku flies low fast past a group of Slug-Women called the Yuna, a breeze causes their skirts to go up, and covering it down. It reminds me of that. Tomorrow morning, I will finish 2 remaining host scenes at a city Toy Store in downtown Manhattan, and in front of the Empire State Building. And then, I'll put these scenes together with B-roll footage. Only 5 months to go! My Documentary will be ready by my birthday! See you soon!
