Hmmm... the Vexy figure looks alright but the Hackus figure looks a bit homogenized. They don't give me a heads-up when the merchandizing starts showing up, so generally I'm seeing it when you all are.

I must agree with ClumsyRules, Vexy looks a little better done than Hackus. His face seems a bit thinner than in the movie trailer, though he keeps funny.
And Vanity looks fine, yet Smurfette's skirt looks somewhat longer than her countepart's from the first movie, and Papa has got less details on his face, too.
Gargy looks good, with a pinch of 'movie', and Azrael is OK.
Schleich always has gotten perfect results, but this time I had the impression this set was produced in a certain hasty way. Pity, maybe the production time wasn't long enough for the demand and probably they had to hurry up more.

Schleich does it the old school way; hand sculpted from reference art and hand painted, although a bit sloppily. Other figures are usually done using the 3D computer models as a starting point so their accuracy and detail is greatly improved. I'm surprised they cheaped out on Hackus' dreadlocks- it's one of his most distinctive features.

I'm not sure you can call them dreadlocks...more like chunks of wild hair.
And yes, the smile does look a bit sloppy.

ClumsyRules it must be so cool seeing your characters turned into figures!!! I bet they tone down the detail to make it easier to make the figure. It must be amazing to see your creation in the flesh!!!

Smurfy1For2- Yes, it's surreal. A year ago Vexy and Hackus were just scribbles on paper. The evolution of these characters is something I'd love to share. but for legal reasons it's not possible.
I've designed characters for other films as well, and it's always a love/hate experience with toys, figures, plushies and the lot. I have yet to see a plushy that gets a character right. It's probably not cost effective to stay on-model with a fabric based toy.
