More pictures of The Smurfs, drawn in the bizarre, early 30s Fleischer Studios art style.
1. Smoogle-in-a-Box (Jokey and Brainy Smurf, with Smoogle)

2. Cuspidor Dance (a tribute to the 1933 Fleischer Popeye short, "Blow Me Down", starring Brainy Smurf)

3. Not Amused (Papa and Brainy Smurf)

Heeheehee... Very cute pictures... But might I ask : what happened to Brainy Smurf in the second picture? I mean, I'm sure he's still pretty mad about being surprised by Smoogle and Jokey Smurf. But it looks like he's got flowerpots stuck on his feet. How did that happen?

These are cuspidors, not flowerpots.
It was when he was dancing, instead of constantly talking through the whole act.
Note (non-canon to the Smurfs franchise): His bragging know-it-all personality is not showing at all, so he's more of a Generic Smurf in these pictures. The apprentice and bragging part don't come until the early 40s, after the move to Disney in mid-1933.

Speaking of Fleischer...
You've seen cartoons like that on YouTube, right?

Oh yeah... I actually used to have a DVD of old Popeye cartoons... Such as the one where Popeye takes Sweet Pea to the zoo, and those in which Popeye is either feuding against a swarm of termites, or Sinbad, or his usual adversary, Bluto.

Another Fleischer-style Smurfs fanpicture where Hefty smurfs Brainy in the face.

Nice job!
Though, of course I don't think Brainy would agree with me on that... He'd probably say something along the lines of : quote: Hey! Why am I always the smurf of everybody's jokes? Just once, I'd like to smurf them a piece of my mind....
It's not like he doesn't always do that anyway.... It's just that nobody wants to hear it... Heehee

Mmm-hmm.
I even added spin lines for the stars, when Brainy gets smurfed in the face by Hefty.
Smear frames didn't come around until the late 30s-early 1940s, where rubber hose animation began to decline for more natural, realistic, dynamic and cartoony animation.

You're welcome flying smurf Need any help with that speaker backstage? You look like you're having a bit of trouble getting it into place heehee
By the way, I just finished a drawing of Ariel in her human form. If you're interested, you can use it as a model for a picture for Mother's Day, which is coming up really soon.

I know it's really REALLY late for this, but I just drew this Captain Smurfhook after I was browsing through the art gallery and saw Vic George's picture of Smurfling Pan and Squeaky's version of Captain Hook... Hope you like it!
