BRAINY: *with a shaky voice, trying hard not to cry* I... I guess I just liked it better when Ariel made it... I'm not saying that I don't like Chef and Baker's smurfing... I just need... Time... I guess, to get used to her being gone...
(Angelica starts to whine, and Brainy gives her a bottle of smurfberry juice)
CLUMSY: Yeah... Me too...
PAPA: I know, my little Smurfs, it's hard for me to adjust to the change, too... But we must be strong, and smurf up good examples for the Smurflings... They're having an even more difficult time getting used to it... They looked up to her...
(Brainy turns to see the little Smurflings sobbing, and an overwhelmed Smurfette trying to comfort them all at once)
BRAINY: Yeah, I suppose you're right, Papa Smurf... She was the Smurfling's role model... And just as she was, we should be too...

JOHAN: I was kind of curious about Ariel... I mean, I know how Smurfette came about... But I'm very confused about Ariel's origins... Could you possibly--
PAPA: No, Johan. She wasn't created by a wizard... Do you know of the fairy queen, Mersandra?
JOHAN: Yes, I have heard of her... Do you mean...
PAPA: We had twins together; Clumsy and Ariel...
JOHAN: I see... But why was Ariel called the "Lost Smurfette"? Wasn't she here the whole time?
PAPA: I'm afraid you're wrong, Johan... Ariel was known as the lost smurfette because she WASN'T here... She is just minutes older than her brother... And when Mersandra sent her to me by stork, the bird rebelled and threw her into the portal in the Blue Moon springs... For 180 years, I've been trying to get her home to us...

PAPA: The bird was suspected to have been under an evil spell... But no one knows who would cast such a curse in the fairy kingdom.
CLUMSY: I guess it might be someone who didn't want their new princess to be a Smurf...
JOHAN: Princess? You mean Ariel was royalty?
PAPA: And Clumsy, too... Like I said, their mother is Queen Mersandra... They only sent them here because they thought it was better for them to live with beings that were more like they were... Ariel just... Never got here...
JOHAN: But she did...
PAPA: Because we found her on the other side of the portal... She proved herself extremely brave and intelligent... Of course, as Smurfs, we all have at least ONE, if not more flaws... Hers was that she had never learned to have fun...

JOHAN: Oh.
SMURFETTE: While Ariel was absent, Clumsy was the only one here with all the other male Smurfs. Before I was created by Gargamel, he first discovered us. I wasn't here at the time, so please hesitate to ask.
JOHAN: Where did it all start, Smurfette?
SMURFETTE: It all started where he wanted to create the Philosopher's Stone....

JOHAN: So THAT'S why he was always so determined to capture Smurfs... The philosopher's stone... But it's already been done, hasn't it?
PAPA: Yes... But not by the hands of Gargamel... It was just recently that a wizard by the name of Nicholas Flamel discovered a more Smurf-friendly means of extracting Smurf essence... Ariel and a wizard named Albus Dumbledore helped him to Smurf up a way to get the power of a Smurf through their voice... Ariel had the most powerful voice of all the Smurfs which made her contribution that much more important... You see, a Smurf tends to release a highly concentrated amount of essence when they sing... So Flamel and Dumbledore built a machine that would collect the essence out of the air and into a small vial. An average Smurf would have lost his voice trying to produce enough essence... Only to fill the container a fraction of the way... Ariel's voice was so powerful, she simply had to sing a few notes before it was almost overflowing...
writer's note: this is a direct reference to Harry Potter... My fanfic is a crossover due to many similarities I have noticed between the two tales

PAPA: She was a very generous and caring Smurf, indeed... I now know that, no matter what smurfs, my little Smurfs will be compelled to be like Ariel... For she was a jolly good smurfette...
(Grouchy walks over to the tomb, hiding flowers behind his back)
CLUMSY: Grouchy? What are you doing back here so soon?
writer's note: I'm actually using mostly Smurfs from movies one and two for Clumsy, Grouchy, and I think Brainy's mainly the same in whatever you find him in...
GROUCHY: Umm... Am I? I, uh... Didn't realize that... *Clumsy and Brainy look at him as if he had lost his mind, and he finally sighs and pulls the flowers out from behind him* I... Guess I'm going to miss her, too... She made me realize that I shouldn't be so negative and insecure about things... I never thanked her... Now I'm kinda regretting not saying thanks when I had the chance...
(Brainy and Clumsy smile and nod in agreement, now understanding that they weren't the only ones whose lives were changed by the girl in the green dress)

NAT: Me too...
SLOUCHY and SASSETTE: Uh huh... Me three...
SASSETTE: Ariel was a great story smurfer!
SNAPPY: Yeah! She was especially good at spooky ones! Remember the one she told about the swamp Smurf?
SLOUCHY: I like the one about the smurfpocolypse the best...
NAT: I really liked it when she told about her adventures in the world of the future humans...
SASSETTE: It's going to be hard to go back to listening to Poet smurfing up tales again... After hearing the smurftastic ones Ariel would come up with...
SLOUCHY: Yeah, just think... We're never going to hear any of Ariel's stories, ever again!

Melody: don’t worry, Boeing and I will take you there someday in the MTD.
Boeing: yeah, and Papa doesn’t need to make special crystals to use it. It’s powered entirely by smurf essence that we extract from smurf wastewater.

Boeing: MTD stands for Matter Transference Device. The reason wizards are desperate for smurf essence is because it contains Moscovium, a material known to do insane stuff.
Here’s an image of the MDT. You may recognize it from Nazi Zombies.
