I found this strange smurf in the bag, is it a fake ? No markings at all and a hole under the feets.

What does it say on the bottom of it's foot?

With no marking on the bottom, it's highly possible that it's a fake. It could be made by a special company, but I highly doubt it. If it were "real" It would at least have "Peyo" or "c" or something. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

here The smurf looks like the Jokey Smurf in the link above. That would explain why the smurf has no marking on the bottom and the two holes in its feet; its base is missing! Somehow, the green base designed to look like part of a lawn with Jokey's present has been detached!

You're right, Century. And despite the Schleich tags, one can see most of them were based upon the Kinder ones.

(About these last ones, some stands seem to have been changed, eg Brainy's books and Smurfette's flowers by the way.) ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

As I had once commented, here's the Smurf figures I purchased.

Their plastic material is much harder than the originals, with a strong smell; Their painting looks sometimes perfect, but taking a closer look one can see more differences; besides, the colors (chiefly the blue) seem to having been airbrush done; About the markings, not good at all, with a certain exception - "Schleich (S), Germany, CE, Made in China" with Payo (!!) instead of Peyo! Although they look better finished than these ones in this pic below:

I posted it again in order to show that not all the people who usually make these fakes have cared much about their finishing. This proves that fakes and originals may be alike two peas in a pod smurfberries in a plate. (Yes, I know... It was my fault: I was not wearing my glasses at that time...)

Drummer Smurf

A closer view of the drum. The plastic seems to have a somewhat granulous texture.

Some time later I acquired the original Bottle Smurf. Here's some comparisons between them.

Has anyone ever tried to make their own "fake" smurf? Like out of clay or something? I bet that would be a fun project.

Modelling a Smurf with one's own hands is really something pretty inspiring, Crisptix. For all I know Ariel author of the Lost Smurfette once made one out of her Smurfette OC, and now she wishes to make a new version again. And here's some hand-crafted Smurfs: Smurfy Creations.

You are right, Squeaky Smurf! I have made two different versions of my OC from clay. The first of which was crammed into a vintage Smurfette lunch box with my other smurfs that I had collected and sent to a thrift store in what I will refer to as a household smurflocaust set forth by my mom's cousin, whom I was living with at the time.
The second was squashed and beheaded last summer due to all the moving from place to place that occurred. I was heartbroken to open the bag she was in... But I had nearly run out of clay and therefore had no choice but to scrap her for parts. Gruelling as it sounds, she will be able to start a new life as the improved version of herself. (and I think I've come up with the perfect solution to our internal structure problem : Popsicle sticks and aluminum foil!)
