Topic: A Football Fanfic Idea: The Smurf Bowl

Yesterday I went to the DeviantArt member event in Hollywood and I came up with a sports-themed fan story appropriate for this time of the year in the USA:
The Smurf Bowl: The annual Smurf equivalent of the Super Bowl. ![[Football Smurf]](graemlins/football.gif) This year's bowl game has the Hefty Hurricanes taking on the Gutsy Smurflanders, Smurfette and the girls as cheerleaders, ![[Smurfette]](graemlins/smurfette.gif) Brainy as a by-the-rules referee, Crazy sounding sirens for each quarter ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif) , and Narrator making like Al Michaels as the play-by-play announcer. ![[Eek!]](eek.gif) Smurfette, Sassette and Little Squeaky the mouse mascot cheer on the Smurflanders while Vexy and Nanny root for the Hurricanes. The teams vie for the Smurf Bowl Trophy, a bronze sculpture of a bowl of smurfberries. It's a comical neck-and-neck game until Hefty's star receiver Wooly (the cowboy Smurf on the TV series) gets dizzy in a tackle and Vexy is unwillingly drafted by Hefty to take Wooly's place ("You're tough as smurf and a fast runner! Now smurf a helmet and smurf out there!")... then things really get crazy smurfy.

that is such a beyond epic idea and i can see that REALLY taking off Rich! i love it!

In a way, I will. This Christmas I plan to put all my Smurf Samplers to date into a free e-book (in the EPUB format) as a Christmas present for everysmurf at BlueBuddies, LinkedIn, Facebook and DeviantArt. Hopefully one can just download it to their smurftop or tablet and enjoy.

A little NFL joke from my sketchbook for "The Smurf Bowl": After Wooly is dogpiled and is left dizzy, Doctor Smurf tends to him: "Wooly, how many fingers am I smurfing up?" (two) Wooly answers "Uh, Dallas! Am I in Dallas?" With bucket in hand, waterboy Clumsy says "Well, after I smurf this on ya, you'll think you're in Tampa Bay!" ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

As the oldest Smurfette and original tomboy, Nanny is pretty feisty herself as Vexy's fellow cheerleader.
