Also, why we are on the subject of "lack of female Smurfs", here's something I found on WhatCulture:
Hard times have fallen on Smurf Village; a tragic Smurfing (literally anything) accident caused by the advances of the tyrant Gargamel led to the deaths of all the females of the Smurf population. Papa Smurf must toil against all the odds to find any surviving lady Smurf, ultimately discovering that one remains, Smurfette, trapped in the castle of the aforementioned fiend.
I don't know about you but this seems like a dark-and-gritty adaption of Smurfette's origin

Well... TV Tropes describes her as being suspiciously similar! When words like suspicious are brought in, it can't be a coincidence! And beside, if Doomsday can go through multiply difference origin stories, why not Sassette? Heck, Smurfette got turned into Smurfling despite being a magically created Smurf so why not Vexy?

I know that some of this stuff was posted a while ago, but I was just thinkin, with all the discussions, you have to think of this:
* Yes, Smurfette was the first female, but not the only female.
* Nanny was apperently created before, but was trapped in castle captive. (You have to watch the episode to understand...)
*Sasette was created younger then Smurfette, so she cannot be mistaken for Vexy, cause Vexy was around the same age as Smurfette...She was just not shown in the movie(As was other Smurfs).
* Vexy was a character made in the 21st centry.
So yes, I agree with VicGeorge...
And I agree with Squeaky, only Brainey, Grandpa, and Sasette were turned into gold coins, but were soon turned back into regular Smurfs soon after.
