Hey Smurfs! The Word is OUT!
Remember I told you about the Smurfs Dance Party video game at the Tribeca Film Festival? Well here's an incredible details on SMURFS DANCE PARTY! Check it out!
Don’t look now, but here comes The Smurfs Dance Party!
Ubisoft recently announced the continuation of its partnership with Sony Pictures Animation and Columbia Pictures with a new game based on the 3D family movie, The Smurfs.
This collaboration will result in the development of The Smurfs Dance Party for Wii, a new dance game that mixes “chart-topping tracks with classic tunes in over 20 fun dances, all created by professional choreographers and led by the legendary blue characters.”
The Smurfs Dance Party will let you (or “kids and parents,” as you like) dance with Smurf characters including Smurfette, Papa Smurf, Clumsy, Brainy and Gutsy (and even the twisted Gargamel himself) while choosing from a variety of music genres to dance to, including Pop, R&B, Rock and Punk.
What’s neat is that each song has its own dance choreography to learn, and supports up to four players in Party Mode.
In addition, a Smurfs-themed DS game is in the works, and will comprise “fun and interactive mini-games, including cake decoration, dress-up with Smurfette, and performing in the Smurf Symphony,” with written stories based on The Smurfs movie included.

I have it, I tried it out. It's okay for kids, though it makes me now want to get the Just Dance game series and Michael Jackson: The Experience.

merry xmas! got smurf dance party used it for 3 hours its hillarius and fun i love how in it the smurfs are singing and gargamel is too my favorite songs are is smurf this way ,gargamel,and a year without rain

I saw that game on commercials and in stores and stuff and it looks fun.

it is but im awful at dancing but its still fun it imbarrasses me when i do the song gargamel and thats the name of it he is singing and dancing! i played it on wii with my sis

aww i'll bet you're better at dancing than you think you are bakette. i want to get that game and try it too. seeing gargamel sing and dance would be hilarious though :-D

i was doing blame it on the boogie and gargamel was dancing i thought he was having a heart attack! oh and clumsy on the game is really good at singing but in the one he sings in i think he trips and dogs bark at him

The Smurfs Dance Party for the Wii featured copy-protection which caused it not run on the Wii Dolphin emulator. The game was the very last Wii game that needed to be fixed for Dolphin.

The Smurfs: Dance Party is a fairly standard Just Dance style game starring the Smurfs. The one notable difference it has from those titles is a form of anti-piracy we haven't seen in any other game. Follow along as we go through the difficulties this game presented and how it was eventually fixed.

Dance with Your Favorite Smurfs
In The Smurfs Dance Party, kids and parents can boogie alongside Smurfette, Papa Smurf, Clumsy, Brainy, Gutsy, and even Gargamel! Players can move to a wide selection of musical genres, including Pop, R&B, Rock, and Punk. Each track has its own unique choreography and can accommodate up to four dancers in Party Mode.
How to Play
Using the Wii Remote, players engage with the gameplay by synchronizing their arm movements with the actions of on-screen dancers. Scoring is calculated based on how closely the player’s motions match those of the dancers, reflecting a gameplay style reminiscent of Ubisoft’s Just Dance franchise.
Game Details
Based on Just Dance Kids, this game was developed by Land Ho! and published by Ubisoft. Jack Angel, the voice of Homnibus in the 1981 cartoon, voices Papa Smurf in Story Mode. The Story Mode cutscenes use stills and motion video directly from the 2011 Smurfs movie.
Story Mode
This is the first Just Dance game that features a Story Mode as well as the standard Dance Mode. In Story Mode, you play through eight different sections, called "chapters." In between these sections, there are short video clips of Papa Smurf on stage, telling you about events from the 2011 Smurfs movie. The backgrounds for these clips use pictures from the film.

Katy Perry's "One of the Boys" is the only song not performed by a cover artist or originally composed just for the game.
Songs Removed from the Game
There were a couple of songs that were planned to be in The Smurfs Dance Party, but were taken out before the game was finished.
"Don't Stop Smurfing"
- This song, performed by The Smurfs themselves, was originally going to be in the game.
- It was replaced with the song "Living Color."
- Interestingly, the dance moves for "Don't Stop Smurfing" were still used in the game, but for "Living Color."
- "Don't Stop Smurfing" is a parody of the song "Don't Stop (Wiggle Wiggle)" by Outhere Brothers.
- You can actually hear "Don't Stop Smurfing" on a Smurfs album from 1996 called "The Smurfs Go Pop!"
"Firework"
- This song title was found in the game's files, meaning it was likely considered to be included.
- However, it was never actually put into the game.
- Some people believe this song might be "Firework" by Katy Perry, but that's just conjecture.
