Wow! Now that's Smurfy photo-ops with cast members. Too bad I wasn't there to meet them. (sniff, sniff...)

Katy Perry is Smurfette
Katy Perry is relishing her role in The Smurfs movie, because she was banned from watching the TV show as a child. The pop star is making her foray into acting by voicing the character of Smurfette in an upcoming adaptation of the popular cartoon series.
But Perry admits she was never able to watch the program when she was younger, because her strict pastor parents deemed the Smurfette character too saucy for kids.
She explains, “It’s funny because I was never allowed to watch The Smurfs growing up. My mom thought that Smurfette being the only female in the village was a little bit scantily clad, if you know what I mean.
“I grew up in a very sheltered house. But this Smurfs is definitely one for the kids… It is a family movie.”

Smurfs at Spar
I've just come home after a walk, and stopped into my local Spar shop and found Smurf puppets for sale! If anyone else on here is from the UK, you may want to take note of this. When you spend £5 or more, you can buy one of 5 puppets for £3.99 or one of 6 glasses for 99p.
Smurfs Invade Your local Spar
Friday the 22nd of July 2011 saw an invasion of little blue Smurfs....they are living in SPAR store's near you for a limited time, just 8 weeks so if you want to give one a new home then there is only one way to pick one up today.

If you spend £5 at any Gilletts SPAR store over the coming weeks (excluding lottery and services) you will be given the option to buy either a SMURF Puppet for £3.99 and there are 5 to collect or alternativley a Smurf Glass of which there are 6 to collect.

Oh... my... Smurfs!
I want to have these puppets! They look like the ones Gargamel used in the movie (except they're plushies, not made of wood) and they're so cute! I may live in the States, but Rocker, perhaps you can showcase them on ebay.com and I could bid on them!

There have been a few, the critics have, unsurprisingly, not been too kind to it, but that won't stop me going to see it. I've also read a few random reviews from some bloggers who have been to see it either at early screenings or at the premiere. While none of them have given it glowing reviews, they have said it's an OK bit of fun, and if you go in with low expectations it might not be as bad as you expect.

Still if the Smurfs are worth 3.5 out of 4 or 5 stars it would be a spectacle. But if it's 2 stars, who would save it. Cars 2 suffered the Box Office in America during its opening weekend. Can it survive???

The Smurfs Movie Review Round-Up
Hey everyone! Thanks for coming back to clevver movies, Im Tatiana Carrier and Ive got a review round up on our favorite blue friends, the smurfs!!!
Well, as much as I would like to report that the reviews were raving, it doesn't seem like these lil blue guys stacked up with the critics. The flick scored a 6% on rotten tomatoes and literally not a single positive comment since last time I checked. So...without further ado, lets see what the critics had to say...
Alonzo deruldie from The Wrap said, "Does for children's entertainment what lead paint does for children's toys.
Michael Rechtshaffen from the Hollywood reporter said, "For all the digitally enhanced Smurfness, the results are remarkably mirthless."
Matt Pace from Red Eye said, "Smurf this smurf, and these smurfin' jokes." Not sure what that means, but I don't think he smirfin liked it.
I cant quote any more...its just too painful. Poor lil guys. But don't take the critics word for it, when you see the flick make sure you comment below so that we can put our fingers on why the critics weren't on team blue! While your at it, make sure to follow us at clevver movies so that you can catch our next review round up!

Me too Rocker I having such a smurfy day today. Not only smurfs are finally here. (In USA)
But it's a good day at my school because today is
the National Thai Language Day and School got an
event so It's all about fun today no class today!

keep on waiting for 3 months until Smurfs hits

I don't care of what the critics have been said
about the film Smurfs is different and it unique
so I'll watch it.

but i can only view the page on my dad's notebook.
I don't have my own PC though maybe i'll go for
Tablet PC.

I saw the movie and it was smurftastic! Grouchy was smurfy in the movie, but it's too bad that he didn't say his catchphrase. Oh well, George Lopez did a smurfy job voicing the character. And Hefty did a little part of it.
Boy, that was great. I can't wait till it comes on DVD, and I estimated that it will be released next year either in the spring or summer. Hope you all enjoyed it, and for you all international members, hang in there, it will come soon enough.

Who knows, Amtrak? There will be a Christmas release of the Blu-Ray 3D, and there maybe spin-offs in the same principle as the movie. I'm seeing it tomorrow with Natalie in 3D. So, I'll tell you all about it.

The critics don't get the Smurfs. Most of them made up their minds before they walked into the theater-and let's face it- it wasn't made for them. They don't do cute and adorable or storybook unless it has something heavy in it (a la Toy Story 3). So it's not Lawrence of Arabia. Who cares? I promise you'll enjoy it, and if the weekend box office is good...
