I'll be looking forward for "RIO" in 3D. I'll tell my Dad and Mom and let them know today. Thanks, Brainy.

Tomorrow, Lena and I am going to the 2011 Tribeca Family Film Festival, and I'm going to visit a Smurf-themed area to promote your new movie. More details tomorrow.

Today, I went to the Tribeca Family Festival and here is what I found at the Smurfs' booth:
 The Smurfs Booth
  Posters
Smurfs written in blue chalk on the sidewalk
 items on the booth table
And there's more, at the Smurfs' activity booth, guests were able to color some new coloring pages (to be uploaded later) and a lady who works there is wearing a Smurf hat. I tried to ask if there's one for me, but they're all fresh out. But I did get the poster, the tattoo set, and the bookmarks. And there's more: Introducing a special preview of the Smurfs' Dance Party video game on Wii courtesy of the Tribeca Film Festival and the Smurfs movie. Kids were dancing to such catchy tunes as "I Like to Smurf It, Smurf It!" and "Who Let the Smurfs Out?!" Gargamel danced to "Who Let the Smurfs Out?!" and many Smurfs even danced to other songs including the music of Barbara Streisand and Katy Perry. Here's the info on the game: n "Smurfs Dance Party," you have to follow along with Papa Smurf, Smurfette and other Smurf'testants and they shake their powder blue rumps to songs by the Jackson 5, Selena Gomez and Katy Perry. Meanwhile, the eponymous NDS game boasts smurftastic minigames that have you doing such activities as decorating a cake and, uh, dressing up Smurfette. (Yes, it's for all ages.) Coming July 26, 3 days before the movie is released. And there's more: they were even giving out Dylan's Candy Bar coupons. I asked: "What does Dylan's Candy Bar have to do with the Smurfs?" And the woman answered "Because there is going to be Smurf-themed candy to promote the movie." Oh, wow! Oh, yeah! Perfect for my birthday, and to go with the new Smurf-lollipops. And enjoy my photo of Me and Smurfette at the Festival. GOOD NIGHT EVERYBODY!

Another Dance Dance Revolution clone, and this time based on the Smurfs? I think I have seen enough of them.

The Smurfs should have had a whole stream of related games released by now, similar to what has been done with Nintendo's Mario character.

The Spanish poster is more representative of the individual Smurfs' personalities even though I find it strange to see Papa Smurf wearing sunglasses and the expression of Brainy.

Latest News: Smurfs, blueberries a fit for Gourmet Trading
Gourmet Trading Co. has found a natural promotion partner for blueberries in “The Smurfs” movie.
“Smurfberries just happen to look exactly like blueberries,” she said, referring to a staple of the characters’ diet.
The Los Angeles-based company will feature a Smurfs tie-in on retail clamshells May 15 through Aug. 15. A peel-off label will direct consumers to a website where they can enter a code to win either a $5 movie ticket discount or a desktop background, which displays Smurfs characters and the Gourmet Trading logo.
The movie is scheduled for release July 29. The tie-in period coincides with the California and Oregon blueberry season. The clamshells come in 4.4, 6 and 11 ounces.
“We really feel this is going to help drive sales of blueberries to possibly a different consumer base,” Inestroza said. “They’re a cartoon that’s extremely popular among the early 30-somethings out there. If you mention the Smurfs (to that age group), 75% will say they have a fond memory. They and others who identify with the Smurfs craze will buy them and put them in kids’ lunches.”
It’s a national promotion, Inestroza said, though most of the action may be on the West Coast because of competing blueberry programs in New Jersey.
“There will be the supply to back up a national program,” she said. “If retailers want to do specific promotions, if some want to go big on this, we would love to entertain their ideas.”
