I’m not going to be able to sleep tonight. Or the night after. Or the night after the night after.

I do think that it was quite disturbing, especially considering that the Smurfs was mainly a childrens' cartoon. I get that they tried to avoid airing it to children by only airing it once in Belgium at 9:00pm. But there were probably a lot of children that were awake during that time.
I do have to say that it gave the point across very well, especially with the "Don't let war ruin the lives of children." thing. Props to Peyo's family for supporting the message of world peace.

Wow. I am so appalled.
As if we don't have enough reasons to dislike UNICEF, and the United Nations in particular, this is yet another example of their low-down scare tactics.
I don't really want to get political, but I think UNICEF asked for it this time. ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

NOTE: UNICEF has done a lot of good, it's true. But there are other charities that are not controlled by the United Nations.

It's listed on the Smurfs Wiki as a "production not suitable for general audiences" and marked with a Papa Smurf warning banner.

Yeah, it was shown only at night, so that fewer children would see it.
