Smurfette isn't happy that the other Smurfs underestimate her simply because she's a girl, so Papa Smurf leaves her in charge while he goes to visit Homnibus. But even while she's in charge, the Smurfs don't take her leadership seriously until she proves them wrong.

Smurfette: Oh, you poor flowers must still be thirsty, I'll be right back *she sets her watering can down by the water pump, but when she tries to pump it, no water comes out* Oh dear.
*Handy walks by and sees Smurfette struggling with the water pump*
Handy: Hi Smurfette, is something wrong with the pump?
