Hefty rounds up the village to plan a birthday surprise for Handy, but the Smurfs find it really difficult to keep him from finding out, and Handy eventually gets the wrong message that the Smurfs may have forgotten his birthday.

*the episode starts in the village in Greedy's house. Greedy is humming to himself while he's hard at work with his baking as usual. Hefty peers into the kitchen through the window*
Hefty: Hey, Greedy, how's Handy's birthday cake coming?
*Greedy wipes the sweat from his forehead as he pulls out yet another layer from his oven.*
Greedy: Does it really have to be a quadruple decker smurfberry cake, Hefty?
Hefty: Hey, it's his favorite

Greedy: Okie-doke! I'll get to smurfin' it!
*Hefty then leaves. He walks over to Clumsy.*
Hefty: Hey, Clumsy! Can ya keep a secret?
Clumsy: Uh, sure, Hefty! What?
Hefty: *whispers* Nosmurf knows, but I've been workin' on a special smurfday present for Handy.
Clumsy: Golly! That sounds smurfy, Hefty! Uh, when's it coming?
Hefty: Not until the party!
Clumsy: Oh!

Jokey: Oh! Handy! It's... uh... a little something... for Brainy! *pause* You haven't seen him today, have you?
Handy: Not at all. Except for the time he snooped in my workshop this morning! Luckily, Clumsy was there to stop him by grabbing the crate where he was standing! Brainy fell down on the ground as Clumsy left with the crate! And Brainy was yelling at Clumsy for ruining his lecture! *giggles* It was hilarious; I couldn't help but laugh! *laughs, then stops* Smurfy times, am I right? *wipes tear off his eye*

Handy: Well, I gotta go smurf for the others! You keep an eye out for Brainy! *leaves*
Jokey: Will do! *as Handy leaves, Jokey lets out a sigh of relief* That was close.
*Cut to Handy, who is still searching for the others. He suddenly sees Papa standing and stops his search.*
Papa Smurf: Still waiting for your party, I see?
Handy: Yeah. The others must be planning something big. So far, I only saw Hefty and Jokey. And to a lesser extent this morning, Brainy and Clumsy.

Papa Smurf: Of course not! They're keeping things under wraps until the party starts! Why not enjoy some time in your workshop until then?
Handy: Okay! *leaves, to himself* But I'm still worried...
*Handy takes a stroll back to his workshop. On the way back, he accidentally bumps into Grouchy.*
Handy: Grouchy, can't you watch where you're smurfing? I can't go through a day without bumping into any Smurf!
