Clumsy is captured by Gargamel when the wizard learns that the key to the Philosopher's Stone is a Smurf. The Smurfs launch a rescue to free Clumsy before dawn before Gargamel can proceed with the spell.

*The scene shifts to the Smurf Village, where the morning sun is just beginning to peek over the mushroom houses. A worried group of Smurfs has gathered around Papa Smurf's house.*
Papa Smurf: My little Smurfs, I have terrible news. Gargamel has captured Clumsy! He believes a Smurf is the missing piece for his Philosopher's Stone spell. We must rescue him before the sun rises or who knows what that wicked wizard will try!
Brainy: According to my research in the Great Book of Smurf, we should form a proper rescue party with a detailed plan, including maps, checklists, and at least seventeen safety rules...
Hefty: We don't have time for all that, Brainy! Clumsy needs smurfing right now!
Smurfette: Oh, the poor dear! We can't let Gargamel use him for that awful spell. I'll come too. Maybe I can distract Azrael with a pretty ribbon or something nice.
Grouchy: I hate rescues... but I hate Gargamel more.
Papa Smurf: Then it's settled. We'll sneak to Gargamel's hovel under the cover of the forest. Remember, no one gets smurfed behind! Let's go, my Smurfs!
*The brave Smurfs set off quietly through the woods toward Gargamel's house, determined to save their friend before the sun rises.*
