(In the ship, while helping Dreamy get ready her, Ferdinand opens his heart out to him.)
Ferdinand: I'm happy that Handy got away from Mathilde, Dreamy... But I'm still worried over my poor Aria!
Dreamy: I imagine that, Ferdinand, but don't smurf hope. Papa Smurf knows your problem and no doubt he'll get an idea to...
(Suddenly a large grey smoke blows up on the deck - and Mathilde appears before all of them! The evil witch starts cackling and addresses Ferdinand.)
Mathilde: Ah-ah! The poor fool! I knew you also were in this plot against me! Did you really think you'd manage to save your little dove?
Ferdinand (boldly): Yes! I still don't know how, but with my friends' help I'll get a way of taking her away from your clutches!
Marina: And don't even think of capturing Handy again, he's not here!

Mathilde (sarcastic): Well, well, well, if it's not the fishy girl! The little Smurf's beloved! No wonder Aria has wondered with me about what you would have that she wouldn't for him to prefer you...
Marina: You'd never understand it.
Papa Smurf: After all, Mathilde, what do you want here? Isn't that enough all you smurfed us?
Mathilde: Keep calm, Pops, this time I come in peace. I won't do you anything... now. In fact I 've got an offer for you!

Mathilde: Yes! Get me King Aquarius' magic pearl, and I'll give Aria back!
(Startled, Marina tries to say something, but Papa Smurf makes a discret gesture for her to keep calm.)
Ferdinand: Are you serious? Shall you release her safe and sound, totally cleared up of your wickedness?

Mathilde: I'll release your little princess, only after you obtain the pearl, my dear.
Handy: *hurries over*
Hefty: Handy, wait!
Handy: *gets in front of Marina* Not a chance, Mathilde, we're not betraying Marina's father like that!
Mathilde: *cackles* You're finally brave enough to come up against me, little Smurf. You're the only motivation my helper needs to complete her mission.
Handy: That's never gonna happen, you...you witch!

Ferdinand (surprised): No, Handy, wait! Let Papa Smurf talk...
Papa Smurf: No, no! Not again! (He pulls Handy by his arm and keeps ahead of him.) We'll accept your offer, but you must leave Handy in peace, for we'll need his help to smurf the pearl.
Handy: But Papa... (Marina put her finger on his lips, asking for silence.)
Mathilde (exultant): Done! I knew we could come to an understanding. So, I wish you all a nice trip, and good luck too... For you'll need it! (cackling laugh)
(The witch disappears in other blowing grey smoke cloud. Far away the Smurf ship, she expresses her thoughts out loud.)
Mathilde: Ah! Those little fools, thinking they can win the great Mathilde! With that pearl, I'll get even more powers and I'll get not only the little Smurf but also his friends, that little mermaid and Ferdinand! They know too much... And I want nothing or nobody to ruin my plans!

Handy (discontented): Papa Smurf, what have you smurfed? We can't do that to King Aquarius!
Marina: Handy, my dear, I also was surprised, since the pearl cannot fall in wrong hands at all due to its high powers; but Papa Smurf calmed me down, assuring me that this wouldn't happen!
Papa Smurf: I asked her to keep calm, for in fact I'm smurfing a plan; but I needed a little more time for improving...
Hefty (who arrived just after Handy's unexpected attitude): Yeah, and you nearly smurfed all, right, Handy?
Handy: But how should I know...?
Brainy: Handy, Handy, Handy! You should remember that Papa Smurf always keeps a plan up his smurf.

Papa Smurf: Anyway, we must make that witch believe we're going to smurf the pearl. And I found a way for that.
Hefty: And how shall you smurf it, Papa Smurf?
Papa Smurf: As any witch, Mathilde must have a crystal ball in which she can monitor everysmurf. So, besides my levitation powder, I brought with me - among other things - a magic mist that smurfs fake images so that she might see we're on the way to Marina's father kingdom, whereas in fact we'll go the castle in order to get the bewitched necklace and free Aria!

Handy (nervous): None of that! I also refuse to meet those two again.
Jokey: But it would be that funny! YUKYUKYUKYUKYUKYUK!
Papa Smurf: I think that any Smurf could do that, Jokey. And now, here's my plan: Marina, Smurfette, Dreamy and part of the crew shall stay here after being smurfed with the mist. Handy too, for two reasons: not only because I demanded it from Mathilde, but also to be left out of her reach. My magic mist only works on living beings and according to my wish.
Handy (smiling brightly): I enjoyed this idea, Papa Smurf!
Brainy: But what about the others?
Papa Smurf: They will go with me to the castle: Hefty, Clumsy, Grouchy, Jokey, Harmony, Vanity, as well as Ferdinand. And you too, Brainy!
Brainy (rolling his eyes and sighing): Oh. Yeah.

Ferdinand: Don't be silly. You take the necklace from Aria, while the others and I distract the witch. Then, you wear the necklace, pounce on Matilde and make kissy noises.
Clumsy: Kissy noises? On a witch?! Yuck!

Clumsy: Uh, does that mean the original plan is off?
Papa Smurf: Clumsy, all you have to do is sneak up to Aria while she isn't looking. Take off the necklace carefully and quietly put it on yourself. The others and I will distract the witch, according to Ferdinand's plan.
