Hey there every smurf! Here in this thread where we could discuss of what we're going to do throughout December!
Here's what I've done: I have decorated my room with colourful lights, a christmas tree and the stockings.
Alongside my room, the entire house is decorated.
This is going to be the smurfiest christmas ever! Later on, I'll be going to Hyde Park Winter Wonderful next week, and the week after that, I'll be off to Garrick Theatre to see Sooty Christmas Show.
And on the last week before christmas, my family and myself were all going to Ireland for family holidays and up to New year's eve and day.
That is all! And have a smurfy christmas everyone! Daniel Coffey

you get to go to Ireland??? lucky ;-p
my Christmas holidays aren't set in stone this year. I can't make plans because I have a promise to keep, but I'm not sure exactly when I'm going to be called on to make good on it. I'm kinda stuck between two things. One person needs me to go stay with her indefinitely while her husband is away on a business trip, another will be spending Christmas alone if I go out of town for her....and the problem is, she keeps saying that her husband could be leaving for his business trip any day now, but that the company hasn't given him an exact date. so...I want to be there for her when she needs me because she's afraid to be alone, and somehow manage to spend Christmas with the other person I mentioned who would otherwise be alone. I don't know how I'm going to finagle it, but I have to somehow.

thank you :-) I'm sure everything will turn out fine somehow. I just wish I knew how to spend Christmas with the second person mentioned without having to come back here and leave her alone. she won't come here because of her kids...he won't go there because he hates being away from the comforts of home, and aside from me he really doesn't have any desire to spend time with people. i had a third friend call me earlier today and he says he EXPECTS to see me over the holidays. hehehe...i love you honey but grab a number and get in line ;-p
I can't wait to hear about your trip to Ireland! have you been there before?

i hope you enjoy your first time travelling out of state bakette :-) that's always exciting. i don't remember my first time ever, but i do remember my first time going it alone. after that i craved more, so as soon as i was old enough to leave home that's what i did, and i haven't stopped since.

I just seen Arthur Christmas today at the odeon cinema in Wimbledon.
And all I would say that since the film has a very festive feeling, to those who have their christmas spirit to start with.
So I personally rate the film a 10/10 for just about everything! (Great work Aardman Animation and Sony Pictures Animation)
And as for The Smurfs Christmas Special, my order had already dispatched from Tescos. And soon I'll be wrap the exclusive DVD of the film (with a Xmas special) into a christmas present.
Isn't this going to be smurfy enough?

I'm a New Englander, but I study in the UK. LOL!
Actually, I'm flying home for Christmas in a little under two weeks. Thinking about it just reminds me how much schoolwork I have to finish before then. Yikes!
My Mom already put up our Christmas tree, but she only hung the lights. She wants to wait for me to come home so we can all decorate it together.
Gosh, I feel so homesick now...
Can't wait for Christmas! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

I see. Is England much like America? Or is it entirely different?

I study Time.
Seriously. I'm a history student, and my thesis is about how the Industrial Revolution changed how people measure, think about, and experience time. It's a crazy-complicated topic, but somebody's gotta do it. LOL!
As for whether England's much like America...
Oh, it's hard to say. The weather is pretty similar here and at home. I live right on the coast in both places, and we get lots of rain and wind and seagulls. I love it!
The town I'm in right now is small and historic with quaint little shops, rather like our Main Street back home with its colonial-era buildings, so that's familiar too. But here the old buildings are mainly stone while, at home, they're mainly brick.
The main differences, I think, are the higher prices, the narrow roads, the smaller cars and, of course, the wonderful variety of accents! People from all over the UK and the world study at this university, so no two people you pass in the street sound alike! Also, the UK has a MUCH better public transportation system than back home. I've been able to criss-cross practically the whole country on my research trips without having to rent a car! And, there's the NHS. And pies. At home, we have calzones (they're like little pizzas that have been folded in half), which I love, but here it's all flaky pies and pasties. The bacon here is actually meat, not just long strips of smoky fat, and the sheer variety of sandwich fillings is staggering! LOL!
I like it here. I might even want to teach here when I've finished my degree. But, I guess I'll always love New England best. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

I say, which is your favourite Christmas movies that fills your spirits?
Here's my list of favourite Christmas films: #It's a Wonderful Life (1946; B&W/Colour) #A Christmas Carol (2009) #Elf #White Christmas (1954) #Nativity (2009) #Home Alone (First two films were my favourites, the 3rd film is alright, but the 4th just looked terrible) #The Polar Express
