Ok so this is a totally off topic post but then again, this is the "Off Topic Forum". So here goes....
Today I was surfing through Netflix and I happened upon a movie called "Cyberbu//y" It was one of those movies that is based around a topical subject with all the flair of a Health class 101 situational drama.
So what does this have to do with "Facebook"? Well, to start, the characters are all in high school, some unnamed middle class American high school in the heartland of USA. They are all "good kids" from a mixture of backgrounds. Here is where the film gets weird. To present the image of the "good kid" vs "bad kid" the students are stereotyped and placed into their appropriate categories from jock to school queen. The drama unfolds as they all get together on a social networking site similar to Facebook.
After an incident where the main character's brother "hacks" her Facebook page, and posts a bunch of lies on it, she is instructed by her mom to "disconnect" and let it go. Instead, the main character finds herself becoming more involved and emotionally attached to the comments and remarks made by her "friends" on her page.
The movie was so bad, I could not even watch it to the end.
So I would like your opinion, do you use Facebook and if you do, do you ever have a problem blocking people who Spam Bully Troll etc.?
What do you do about cyber bullying or does it really matter, after all it's the internet.. nothing is serious on the internet right?

I have been cyberbullied-- but I was never really effected because they would send me a text and be fine up-front. If they don't have the smurf to say it to your face (but in an email, facebook ect.) you shouldn't worry about it!

Hmm I still don't see what's so bad about Trolling, but then again at a school near me, someone stuck a Troll Face on Ghandi in the History Department...

I don't have account on Facebook. And if they do it on email it would not be easy because i don't give my emails to people outside my family. Unless i trust him/her.

cyber bullying is a very real problem, indeed, for children, teens and adults alike. some people just do not grow up. there have been those who have done it to me on fb. i unfriend and block them and they do not get added back ever unless they prove to me in person, or via email if they can not in person, that they have matured and can handle things right from now on. if they choose to continue the bullying outside of fb, such as email, text messages, snail mail even, i will go to the police and file harrassment charges. being dragged into court over their ridiculous behavior tends to make them realize that they just can't treat people that way.

the way i see it, if someone has a problem with me, they can handle it with me privately. there is no need for anyone to be making anyone else seem foolish all over fb for everyone that you and they know to see. nothing i have ever said or done is really that bad that i need to be dragged out in public for a stone throwing.
really, the only thing i have ever been bullied for anyway is for being so different. well, and once just for being female by someone with a very negative outlook on women in general. i really do not care what those who bullied me for that think. i am who i am, and absolutely no one's approval is needed, although i do very much appreciate it when i do receive approval from those i care for.

I can't get a face book until I'm At Least 13 years old. It will probably be more than that though.
I'm just wondering Sportette, isn't there an age limit to face book? How did you get on?
