HHi all. I'm having an argument with myself. Did the original Smurf House with the green windows, come with a ladder as standard? I sometimes see one for sale with a ladder included, but the original box and instructions never has one on it.

Hi Paddwood,
I think the old Smurf House by Schleich did not originally come with the ladder but, like you, I have seen it sold with the ladder many times before. You often see the big mushroom house together with the pieces from the Smurf Garden Playset (which includes the ladder).
If it weren't for the box and instructions, it would be easy to start believing it came standard with the amount of times they are found together!

The instructions for the Smurf House are in German, French and English.

Schleich has offered different versions of this Smurf House over the years. The 40001 The Smurfs Mushroom House (shown above) is from 1976. The 49001 Smurf House is from 1996. And the most recent version 20803 Smurf House was released in 2017 with a new box and it included two Smurf figures!

49001 Smurf House (1990s)
This is the same Smurf House as the original 1970s but there are some color differences.
The windows are brown and not green like the original. The key is grey, not yellow like the original. And most noticeable is the mushroom roof that is red with yellow patches, whereas the original is red and white.

20803 The Smurfs House (2010s)
Notice that the upper thatched window flowers are different colors from the other two Smurf Houses.
The added bonus to this Schleich Smurf House is that Gargamel, Azrael and Papa Smurf are included!
