Rare Roman Smurfs - Gladiator Rebellion (Pitufos Romanos)
Rare Roman Smurf Figures
Here is a rare set of Roman Smurfs, also known as Gladiator Smurfs. The box comes with 6 different Roman Smurf figures and a Roman Colosseum play structure. It is made in Spain by Miniland.
The Roman Smurfs have beige skin instead of blue skin. They are fake Smurfs or bootleg Smurfs. Although not technically Smurfs, many Smurf collectors covet these hard-to-find figurines.
Notice that Julius Caesar is wearing a Phrygian cap which is basically a Smurf hat!

This is the board game that the "Roman Smurfs" come from. It includes Julius Caesar Smurf and 5 Gladiator Smurfs.

The Gladiator Smurf figures measure about 5.5cm. They do not have any stamps or markings on the feet. The emperor is Julius Caesar in his white robe holding a flower. There are five Roman Soldiers with different weapons. Each one has different color pants.

There are also solid color beige Roman Smurfs. These are unpainted and a little rough around the edges. They have no markings nor stamps.

The name "Pitufos" or "Smurfs" does not appear on the Miniland board game box. The "Roman Smurfs" are not licensed Smurfs.
Many think they are very smurf-like, especially the Juiluis Caesar figure with his smurf-style hat. The other Smurfs need not wear a Smurf hat because they are wearing Roman helmets. They are the same size and style as other official Smurf figures. They even have tails like Smurfs!
People like to collect them because the figures are cute and remind them of Smurfs. They are not blue like Smurfs. And they are not officially named "Pitufos" but many Smurf collectors love these hard-to-find figures.
Roman Smurfs have tails!

1980s Miniland Figures
You can see many of the figures (especially on the back side of the box) that Miniland was "inspired" by like Carebears, Asterix, Astrosniks and Smurfs.
Miniland made other games featuring figures inspired by these popular characters.

The "Roman Smurfs" are featured in two of these games - Gladiator Rebellion and Game of the Romans.
In the 1980s, Wonilandia produced several of the figures used in these games, like the Angel Bears figures with the letter A on their tummy, the Parchito cute animals, and the World War II soldiers.

Assault on the Blue Planet Game Rules
Miniland Astrosniks Figures
This is the Miniland "Astrosniks" game called Asalto al Planeta Azul or Assault on the Blue Planet. It comes with 6 Astrosniks or Sniks figures including a gold RoboSnik!
Starla with the flower (the girl Snik), RoboSnik, Copter and Commander are similar to existing Bullyland Astrosniks figures. The most noticeable difference between the Bullyland and Miniland Starla figure is that Starla holds a flower in a different hand. The Bullyland Commander figure does not hold anything whereas the Miniland Commander figure holds a red object.
Although there is a Bullyland Mechanic Astrosnik figure (with a wrench and toolbox), the Miniland Astrosnik figure only holds a tool. And the tool has a different s-shape.
A Doctor Astrosnik does not exist in the official lineup by Bulllyland.

Juego de los Romanos
The Colosseum conquest game includes 3 Smurf-like Romans and 3 Asterix-style warriors for team fights. The Roman Smurfs included are 1) Roman Smurf with Mace & Shield, 2) Roman Smurf with Sword & Net, and 3) Roman Smurf with Sword and Trident. These same 3 Roman Smurfs can also be found in the Gladiator Rebellion game plus 3 more.
