I recently came across a Google search result that showed what seemed to be a draft of an advertisement for the episode where Baby Smurf would say his first ever word. Where this ad would have been placed, I don't know. It seems too plain for a magazine ad.
Or it could be representing images that would be scaled down to fit in a kids magazine, with both images on the same 'vertical' page, or divided across two pages.
Or, it could be strictly loose sheets that came in a media folder/press kit for television stations, so they can be informed of what is coming up that season, for that cartoon series.
Or maybe it's a template for NBC's TV production team for making a short tv spot (maybe 10-15 seconds) that would be attached to a previous Smurf episode, or, it's end credits to let viewers know of the big event coming up.
Anyone with insight on this?
The other question is, the advertisement states that the episode is coming Dec 7.
'Baby's First Word' is an episode in Season 5, in 1985. Dec 7 during that year would have been on a Saturday, so that makes sense. BUT according to a bunch of episode/season guides on the internet, 'Baby's First Word' was part of the Season 5 premiere episode, which aired Saturday Sept 21, 1985.
So, was this 'ad' or 'info sheet' a mock up given within a press kit, with initial dates, months ahead of the Season 5 premiere...but then the TV executives changed the dates by the time Season 5 started? (which is probably very typical, in my opinion)
