One piece tennis smurf, early production from Schleisch 1979.

The smurf has a red racket with the ball attached to it.

Welcome to Bluebuddies, Criptjof!
Is your Smurf like this one?

 -
20049 Tennis Smurf

Still, he's got no ball attached (more info here). So, would you mind posting a picture of your Tennis Smurf?

Thanks! Your little Smurf is a very rare variation indeed. I've just found a picture of it here: link

Yes that is very rare. I've seen it go for upwards of $5,000 on the PSA website. I myself have been looking for one of these Smurfs for a while. Especially with the yellow tennis ball still being attached to the racket, I haven't seen lots of these throughout my 53 year Smurf toy reselling business.

This is curious.

There are no Smurf figures listed in the PSA website database, only cards.

1979 Schleich Catalog - 2.0049 Tennis Smurf

The 20049 Tennis Smurf was first available from Schleich in 1979. Here is a picture from page 13 of the 1979 Schleich catalog. You can see that this Smurf tennis player holds a red racket with white strings. It's unusual to see this particular racket.

There are Schleich Tennis Smurfs with the (c) 1978 marking but the 1978 Schleich catalog does not include 20049 Tennis Smurf. The Tennis Smurf first appears in the 1979 Schleich Catalog shown above.

TENNIS SMURF COLOR VARIATIONS

 -
Tennis Smurf with light blue and white clothes

 -
Tennis Smurf with black and red clothes

 -
Custom Tennis Smurf (brown racket & acorn ball)

The 20049 Tennis Smurf wears a light blue shirt (with a white collar) and white shorts. His wristband is yellow. His tennis racket is yellow.

The other 20049 Tennis Smurf shown here is dressed in a black shirt (with a red collar) and black shorts. His wristband is red.

The custom Tennis Smurf figure holds a brown tennis racket with an acorn ball.

Although these different color variations of the Tennis Smurf may not be "official" they are fun to see and collect.

TENNIS SMURF DIFFERENT RACKET COLORS

 -
20049 Tennis Smurf (Original Red Racket)

 -
20093 Tennis Smurf (Original Yellow Racket)

 -
20049 Tennis Smurf - White Racket

 -
20049 Tennis Smurf - Blue Racket

 -
20049 Tennis Smurf - Yellow Racket

Since the plastic rackets are removable, you sometimes see the 20049 Tennis Smurf with a yellow tennis racket instead of the original red racket. It is an easy swap from the other 20093 Tennis Smurf.

You can also see different color rackets like blue or white although it's not as common. Any racket or accessory can be swapped out to make a custom Smurf.
