Hey everysmurf... I...
I have some bad news...
Remember that clay figure I posted during the summer?? Well, something terrible happened to her, I don't know if it was simply the fact that she had to stay in a plastic grocery bag the entire time, or the fact that my mom and I were packing up and moving so often that she was badly damaged by the pressure of everything against her, but the end result is purely horrid. I might try to post a picture of how bad it is, but I don't know if I can bear to open that bag yet another time.

There is no possible means of reparation... However, there may be a few chunks of clay that could possibly be salvaged to create a newer, better model of my character.
Hopefully, she will be ready in time for the holidays.
However, holiday sketches are still very much welcome

Just a suggestion, you can use an ice lolly stick to reinforce her head on the body. Don't get disheartened, I hope your Ariel shall get even smurfier! ![[Happy Smurf]](/ubb/graemlins/Happy_Smurf.gif)

Thanks, Squeaky Smurf. I shall be sure to remember that when I rebuild her.
By the way, guys, I'm still going to try to work on the fanfic, and a piece of holiday Smurf art.
Hopefully it will be done before Tuesday.
And of course I'm doubly excited to see all of your Christmas art soon. Happy holidays everysmurf!

Sadly, I cannot use oven-bake clay...
I'm going to just scrap some bits off of the old, damaged model, which was made from some of my sturdier clay.

It took me quite a bit of courage, but I have finally decided to begin the process of trying to rebuild my 3d model of Ariel...
I have taken out the "corpse" of Ariel 2.0, to see if there were any parts that I could salvage for the new figure. The scrapping process is proving to be just as difficult (if not, more) as I had expected, both physically and emotionally. My heart drops with every slice I make with the exacto-knife... Some of the colors are proving to be almost impossible to separate. The hands and hair are fused together to the body. I don't expect the Ariel 3.0 to be very big.
I will post more updates as soon as I can.

I have yet to finish the job of rebuilding the new Ariel figure... I think I will just wait until I have a better workspace to do it at.
As for my fanfic, I've been having a bad case of writer's block... I'm not quite sure as to when I will have a new chapter ready, but I promise, I have not forgotten about it. If anyone has any ideas for my fanfic, you can feel free to post them... I would post some Valentine's Day art... But I'm not sure how I would do with that. Personally I'm not very good at Valentine's Day stuff...

You can use air dry modelling clay (eg DAS), so you don't need any ceramic oven to get your works ready. ![[Happy Smurf]](/ubb/graemlins/Happy_Smurf.gif)

I shall surely try that idea, Squeaky. Thank you for the advice. However, for now, I think it best to wait until I am in a place of my own. Where I don't have to worry about other people questioning me

As of yesterday, I am now 19...
My time in the Smurf world has been limited... This is now merely a secret hobby of mine... But once I am on my own, it won't have to be a secret. You will see more of my work when this happens (hopefully soon, not that I'm not happy where I am,it's just a bit cramped for me) chapters will be longer and art will increase in quality. I don't have a definite deadline for this to happen, but I promise, change is definitely in the air I'm breathing! You guys are so amazing, and I hope to come back to the Smurf community a bit more fully in the next few years (or sooner!)
Til then, I will be brainstorming for great content to my fanfic. And hopefully getting some original works published!
Smurf life forever, and always,
Ariel B. <3

Hello everyone! I'm sorry for the delay, but I really am working on that new model of Ariel. But until then, please enjoy this semi-realistic-looking sketch of her floating unconscious by some invisible and mysterious force...

So... Yeah...
Still in the planning phase of my new Ariel figure...
And, after studying my supplies, I have come to a conclusion...
As I said before, she may not be as tall as the last model... But, BOY, will she have some LONG hair!
Fanfic on pause, still... Release date of next chapter : TBA

Hey, guys...
So... Yeah, I've been busy (or distracted... Who knows?)
I'm still trying to work my way around this model of Ariel...
The next chapter is still on hold... (Got to work on some other important stories before continuing the fun one, you know...)
But you guys are still welcome to read and/or create your own images (if you so choose) I'm sure my upwards of 43 - 45 chapters already written can keep anyone satisfied until I get back to it... Right?
Anyway... Here it is... https://bluebuddies.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi/topic/1/3803.html If you can't find this message to get the link, it's always in my signature, first link... (the second is this art thread) you can find my story wherever you spot me here on blue buddies

Thank you, papaya, for drawing your design of my OC, Ariel.

She looks so adorable in your style!
I feel like I could just snatch her up and hug her!

Thanks, papaya!
Just digitally redrew my "realistic" image of Ariel!
Also added a background and lighting/shading...
What do you guys think?
