How is it connected to the Bible? I knew C.S. Lewis was a Christain, but I didn't know that his books were connected to the Bible. ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

Well, take the first one for example, think of the Queen as Lucifer and the lion as a representation of God. The queen tried to trick Edmond into doing evil (with the help of her "demons"), which he did. She then went to the Lion and said the penalty for his "crimes" was death. However, the Lion sacrificed himself because he loved them. He then was killed. But then he rose from the dead and came back as a mighty warrior.
Now, think of the story of Jesus... The Devil tries to trick us into doing wrong, making us think that we're doin right. In the Bible, it says that the wages of sin is death. Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead (like the lion). It says in Revelations that (like the lion) Jesus came first as a poor gentle baby. The second time He comes, He shall come as a mighty warrior.
The Queen then is kept from doing her evil until the second movie. Then she is released for a small amount of time to try to deceive. Now in Revelations, it says that after the battle, the devil will be locked up, but then released for a small amount of time to deceive.
These are just some of the examples;)

Very interesting! According to mentalfloss.com...
"The Christian themes in the story are overt. Aslan, as a stand-in for Christ, allows himself to be sacrificed by the evil White Witch and is then resurrected, which brings salvation to Narnia. This follows Christ’s death on the cross and his resurrection three days later.
But in a 1962 letter, Lewis said the book was not an allegory so much as a “supposal,” as in: 'Suppose there were a Narnian world and it, like ours, needed redemption. What kind of incarnation and Passion might Christ be supposed to undergo there?'"
So, apparently The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is sort of inspired by the story of Jesus.

Yes, I was taught in school, however, that Lewis claimed that it was intentional so that he would either not be harassed on creating a Christian book or because when your a believer in Christ, the word of God comes out all the time. Whether you are consciences of it or not ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

This summer, while we may be tempted to get on Blue Buddies more, it is a good idea to spend our extra spare time reading books. Here are a few that I recommend:
The Chronicles of Narnia (It's a book series: start with The Magician's Nephew!)
The Tale of Desperaux
The Hobbit
I love Narnia! ^^ And The tale of Desperaux was an assignment in sixth grade.
^^ I'm sorry if I've not been on...Just got back from church, and I looked on here-it's an honor to have so many replies to a thread I started! X3

I agree to the maximum. Our country will never be as beautiful as it once was at heart...

You're moving to Britain? (If you are, You couldn't have picked a better place.)
Yes, the US is not the "one nation under God" like it used to be. It will continue to go downhill until Jesus comes. Of course, no country is perfect.

Century, you are completely right. It's sad that there are only a few scattered here and there that's the age we are that can say they're waiting for Jesus. (hopefully I'm in the right age range saying 13 or 14 to like 25 or 26...I don't know. XP)

Young Christians. I'm seeing the four of us (you, me, Redneck, and Ariel) in that area of numbers...correct me if I'm wrong.

Personally, I like to show the teachers something like facts that they didn't know. The I make meself sound smart
I also like to say funny things that make the teachers laugh. Such as, a few weeks ago, me teacher said," ok, today we will be reviewing the structures of leeches." And I said, without thinking about it," Man! Leeches Suck!
So the class and the teacher started laughing like crazy, and I didn't know why. It took me about 10 min to figure it out ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
