I have three more fan comic ideas, and these will probably be my last to be posted for a while as I am now working on actually sketching them up one at a time, and ultimately finalizing a few as full-color comic pages.
Ol' Blue Eyes is Back: my idea for the conclusion to the unfinished Blue Eyes story arc in the original TV series. It's been a few years since Smurfette saw the little magic pegasus, and when she shares guardedly about Blue Eyes to the other female smurfs at a tea party, Brainy overhears it and gossips that the adult Smurfette still has make-believe friends. The embarrassment and derision makes Smurfette so angry she impulsively invokes the Blue Eyes incantation--only to be used in a time of danger--one last time to scare the Smurfs into believing the little pony really is real, even if they can't see him. But Blue Eyes has grown a little since his last visit, and he is very upset that Smurfette called him back one last time for immature, selfish reasons.
When Vexy tries to rescue Smurfette from seemingly flying away, she lassos Blue Eyes, injuring one of his wings and hurtling him down to earth. His cloak of invisibility is shattered, and Smurfette screams that Vexy killed him. Even though the little pegasus is actually okay, the friendship between Smurfette and Vexy has been broken. The theme of the story is forgiveness and reconciliation, especially forgiving yourself, as Vexy is devastated and hard on herself because her fiery temper nearly killed her best friend and an innocent third party.
Smurfette's Sweet Sixteen: Katy Perry was right--in this story Smurfette really is a teenager, as the Smurfs celebrate 16 years since she became a true Smurf with a cozy, casual picnic in the woods. As usual, Gargamel has designs on his creation that got away--eating her up as a homemade meal, along with Vexy as a side order.
As of now I'm thinking of dropping in Matthew Macreep from "The Smurfs and the Magic Flute" as Gargy's partner in crime. When the two kidnap Smurfette, the other girl Smurfs (Nanny, Vexy and Sassette) team up to rescue one of their own, with Sassette referring to themselves as The Smurftastic Four--"all for smurfette and smurfette for all!"
Talent Show, or Smurfs Got Talent: I forget who it is, but the member with the Carmen Miranda smurfette avatar inspired this story. It's time for the big annual Smurf Village Talent Show, and everysmurf is working on a smurfy act. Papa Smurf is doing smurfy pyrotechnics with his lab equipment, Poet does an "Ode to Silence", a performance art piece in which he says nothing; Smurfette is being taught by Jokey how to juggle ping-pong balls, and Vexy is doing a tropical dance set as the great Smurfy Miranda, complete with wild gyrations and kisses to the male Smurfs while belting out "Mama Yo Quiero" the same way Mickey Rooney did in drag (see below)--"Hey, Ma!"
Imagine the little fiery Vexy impersonating the Bombshell from Brazil, Carmen Miranda.
Any thoughts?

I know, and I take all that into account. In the story "Smurf-Colored Glasses" from Season 1 of the Hanna-Barbera TV series, Papa Smurf declares Smurfette Day in honor of one year to the day that she joined the family. It was basically her first birthday. Since Smurfette was created fully grown, I can legitimately get away with her Sweet Sixteen. And besides, it makes for catchy-sounding title.
I playfully explore the long lives of the Smurfs in another story idea, Grandpa's Birthday, in which the Smurfs try to hold a surprise birthday party for Grandpa, but he already knows and plays along because he knows how important it means to them. When they ask how old Grandpa really is, Papa answers "Well, heh-heh, Grandpa is very modest about giving away his age, but confidentially he will be 1,062 years old. He really is twice as old as me, just not exactly." When Smurfette asks "Ooh! How do you put 1,062 candles on a cake?" Greedy (aka Baker in the comics) quickly answers "You don't! You just put one big smurfy candle. You don't want to burn the village down, do ya?" ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
