I saw the movie in 3D. Best incarnation ever. And more true to the comics.
I got this while I was there too.

I already went to see the movie at the Mall Costanera Center in Chile was pretty and now I have to wait until June or July when the DVD of the movie comes out.

The wait is either over or almost for me since I have a choice do I be able to watch it in time
before the movie goes out of run or I wait for DVD/Blu-Ray release?
I did waited for home media release with The Peanuts movie before.
Hmm I don't know I was so busy...definitely leaning towards the home media release.
This is going to be sad to know if the movie under perform in box office,the first movie record $560 something million is pretty hard to beat.

I am -so- disappointed that I didn't get to get any of the promotional materials (the character cups, popcorn buckets, etc.)! Unfortunately the theater chain we saw it at (both times) apparently doesn't carry that stuff. I'm hoping to track down some of it on eBay (at least the Hefty cup topper >_> ).

I watched the movie yesterday! At last!
And I observed the artists' care about researching and getting the true Smurf spirit as authentic as possible. For example, Farmer's scarecrow (great reference!) already mentioned below (as well as the infamous Gargy's Shazalakazoo and the BZZ - GNAP!- fly),
