Rowena, I've noticed that your posting much more frequently than you did a while ago. Just out of curiosity, did you just get back from a trip or something?

Yeah, actually, that's exactly what I did. I got back from my big research trip a few weeks ago, and then classes started up, and only now are things starting to settle down enough for me to take some time out and play around with my crochet projects and my stories. So, here I am! ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
Now, though, I've got to plan a few more little research trips for this semester and start actually writing everything up into complicated, official chapters and papers. Good gosh, that's a lot of stress.

I have found that smurfs can help sooth stress.

Hi everyone!
My toy stuffing finally arrived (after experiencing several irritating adventures including getting lost in the mail twice!) so last night I was finally able to finish Grouchy! I'd love to know what you think of him. Here he is:
Now, I'm going to start work on figuring out how to make Samwise Gamgee. I'll post his picture here as soon as he's done.

Guess what--I did it! Just this moment, I finished Samwise Gamgee! He's gotta be the most complicated doll I've ever made--even more than Faramir with his armor and boots. He has toes and furry feet and a coat with tails and a cloak and trousers and slightly pointed ears, and tomorrow I'll take his picture and post it so you can see him too! It's the smurfiest feeling when you hold something in your hand that used to be just a picture in your head. I did it! He's done!

I think I'm going to try to make Clumsy next. The challenge there will be making him recognizable as Clumsy, not just any Smurf. And if I make Clumsy, I'm going to have to make a better, more detailed Brainy, since they're best friends. LOL! ![[Cool]](cool.gif) ![[Happy Smurf]](graemlins/Happy_Smurf.gif)
I'd also like to try to make a Dalek from Doctor Who, but that would be crazy hard with all those different parts and textures!
