Among my hundreds of smurfs that I collected in the 1980's, I have the complete Historical Smurf set (Thomas Edison, Abe Lincoln, etc.)
When looking at the price guide, their total worth should be $290.00.
When selling, are they worth more individually, or as a set?

Hi Blakat,
Welcome to BlueBuddies! Typically speaking, a set will always be worth more than the individual pieces because the collector can buy it all at once. For example, there is a seller on eBay right now who is selling his complete set for $450. And a complete set just sold a couple of days ago for over $300.
However, sometimes there are collectors that are just missing one or two figures from the set and will pay dearly to finally finish their collection. The Thomas Edison Smurf (the one with the light bulb) is always the most popular and will fetch the highest price. So sometimes you can make more by selling separately. However, it may take longer to sell them individually... because you'll have to wait for a buyer for each figure. It is easier to sell a complete collection.
Hope this helps!
