I just got my copy today. It's not bad, though they replaced the Smurfnapper story with a rather modern-styled Smurf story, which is only a bit disappointing. It would have been nice to have the origin story of Gargamel's desire to go after the Smurfs remain intact.
And yes, I finally understand now the secret of page 23!

Yay! I got "The Purple Smurfs" at Barnes and Noble. It was the only Smurf book there, so I quickly picked it up.

The next new Smurf Book will be "The Smurfs and the Egg". This is the 5th Smurf Book in the new series by Papercutz.

You can pre-order now or wait until it is released on March 29, 2011 and buy it here. I am really excited. I love the new books... including learning the secret truth about p.23 in The Purple Smurfs!

Definitely a contrast to the animated version which had our smurf wearing his cap.
HOWEVER there was one or two scenes in which both Clumsy and Greedy's ,,,er... heads could be seen briefly. LOL!!!

Hot dog! I'm pre-ordering "The Smurfs & the Magic Egg", "The Smurfs & the Howlibird" and "The Astrosmurf" book at Barnes & Noble. I saw the Hanna-Barbera versions of these stories, and I can tell that in "The Astrosmurf", Smurfette didn't appear in the original comic, and neither did Gargamel and Azrael, because it was the first Smurfs' TV episode, that we would see Gargamel in the cartoon. Another difference was that the Swoofs were orange, now in the cartoon episode, they're green, because they look more like the aliens from another planet. I can't wait for these new stories to come out.

In my "comic book storyboard" pages of a scene from my EMPATH story "Where No Smurf Has Gone Before" where Dreamy revisits the Swoofs in the Imaginarium and in flashbacks, I had the Swoofs depicted as the comic book version of "The Astro Smurf" did, orange with white rings around their mouths, with Grandpa Swoof being a composite of both his comic book version and his cartoon show version. Also depicted in that manner was a Baby Swoof and the Swooflings.

There is a new Smurf Guide Book coming out! It's called, "The Smurfin' Guide to the Smurfs". It's a paperback book with 96 pages. The publisher is Simon Spotlight. It'll be released in May 2011.

Hello everybody! Today, I just bought my new Smurfs comic by Papercutz: "The Smurfs & the Magic Egg". I read this story, and it was so funny. Hefty Smurf becomes a sausage, a Red Smurf, Yellow Smurf, Striped Smurf, and ugly Smurfs. It's so funny! Even Papa Smurf turns into a casual Smurf, while 3 Smurfs become Papa Smurf. So howl-larious! And yes, Sassette, I will order the new Smurfin' Guide to the Smurfs book. It will be part of my birthday wish list. So, my birthday is on May 10, and I'll be thinking of my new birthday theme: Smurfs, Harry Potter, Disney-Pixar's Cars and Kung Fu Panda. Ta-ta!
