Here we go again...
And talking of the village... (the Smurf village, otherwise.)
"Clumsy! Don't you remember when you last tried to make a magic and became a dragonsmurf? Isn't enough what happened?"
"Er, sorry, Papa Smurf", Clumsy Smurf was very embarrassed. "I only wanted to smurf Julie a surprise, so..."
"A surprise?! Why haven't you told me before?" Jokey put in. "You could have left it to me, and then... SURPRISE! YIHIHIHIHIHIHIYA!!"
"I HATE surprises!"
"None of that, Jokey!" Smurfette intervened. "You won't do it to Julie!"
"Yup, that's right!" added Clumsy. "She's my friend!"
Jokey Smurf looked at him mischievously and opened a large smile. And began to jump like a frog whereas he was laughing and singing in a foolish way:
"Clumsy-has-a-girlfriend! Clumsy-has-a-girlfriend! YIHIHIHIHIHIYA!"
Everysmurf laughed too except Papa, Smurfette and (sure) Grouchy.
"STOP!! Stop it right now!" The leader Smurf was very upset. "Shame on you, Jokey! What right have to poke fun at Clumsy this way? And what about you?" he cast a severe look at his little Smurfs. "Laughing at him is not nice at all! What's wrong with Julie and Clumsy being friends?"
They all got silent with their heads downwards.
"By the way, I'd like to remind you that we are hosted in a place where its owner received us with all his goodwill when we most needed help", Papa went on. "So let's make our stay here as less tiresome as we can!"
The Smurfs kept quiet and he continued:
"In other words, we mustn't abuse Mr. Roarke's hospitality. Thus, I hope you all behave yourselves while we stay here, my Smurfs. Right?"
"Yes, Papa Smurf!!" They replied in a whole chorus.
Meanwhile...

After checking fantasies out, Mr. Roarke asked Julie to supervise the arrangements for a wedding anniversary buffet; he and Tattoo were making their way to the white bungalow when a young man in a police outfit came to them.
"Excuse me, Mr. Roarke. I must report you about an occurrence that took place when you were at the village."
"What happened?"
"My colleague and I took a strange man in black who was disturbing the guests with some fantastic stories... Involving little blue elves dressed in white..."
"Gargamel!" Mr. Roarke thought.
Tattoo opened his eyes wide and was about to say something but his boss lifted his hand discretly, asking him to remain silent.
"Bring him to my bungalow. I'll myself solve this question."
"Right, Mr. Roarke!" The FI guard moved away and the two men in white went on, reaching the cottage.
Tattoo was quite worried and couldn't help a comment after they entered:
"You should have him arrested, Boss," he said. "Dat sorcerer can't get on de loose in Fantasy Island. He is a danger for de Smurfs!"
"I know, Tattoo", Mr. Roarke answered while he was sitting down at his table. "And I promised to keep them in safety. Unfortunately we can't hold him in custody unless he has commited something truly serious!"
"But we mustn't get with arms crossed while he's been trying to find dem!!" Tattoo didn't conform. "What do you intend to do about it, Boss?"
Mr. Roarke smiled heartily at his assistant.
"I see gladly you really care about our little blue friends, Tattoo."
"And don't you eider, Boss? You like dem, don't you?"
"Of course I do! For all I've observed until now, these little Smurfs have a very kind nature."
"Mais oui! Clumsy is an example."
"And what about Papa Smurf? I feel he's very special." Mr. Roarke smiled. "I think we shall get along very well!"
"Yet dat Brainy Smurf... He's such a boring guy, ma parole! And Grouchy always looks to be on de outs with de world, what a cranky Smurf!"
Mr. Roarke couldn't help laughing.
"And dat Vanity... He must think he is de eighth wonder of de world, sapristi!"
"Oh, come on, Tattoo!" contested Mr.Roarke. "You seem to forget that many human beings are just like that! After all, each Smurf has a different mood, too!"

(Observation: the sentence in which Papa admonishes Jokey was out of a word: "What right have you to poke fun at Clumsy this way?" ![[Smile]](smile.gif) (Pardon my fail...)
Well, let's go on...
"And did you noticed Smurfette, Boss? How charming! Have you ever imagined what she'd be like if she was a human being? Oh, là là!!" And winked an eye, smiling mischievously.
"Oh, Tattoo! You've always been the same! When you don't think about money, you think about ladies!" Mr. Roarke tried to look severe but was compelled to smile again. "But I must admit you're you're quite right, she's really very beautiful... " He made a pause and put his hand under his chin thoughtfully. "In fact, she's even..."
The talk was broken up by a sudden knock at the door. Tattoo opened it and the young policeman enterd taking Gargamel by his arm, whereas his companion had Azrael shut inside a cat carrier.
"My, Julie was right! What a hideous guy!" Tattoo commented quietly to Mr. Roarke.
"Shh!"
Very angry for being held, the sorcerer tried to say something.
"I'M GARGAMEL, AND I demand to be set free..." But his voice tone deceased and finally he got silent after a severe gaze Mr. Roarke cast at him.
"Here's the man we found, Mr. Roarke", the guard explained, "and this cat was with him!"
"Good! You can take it to Fantasy Island Animal Shelter. As for its owner, let go of him. I'd like to have a talk with this man in order to know about his intentions!"
"Right, Mr. Roarke!" The policemen left the room taking Azrael.
"What shall you do to my cat?" Gargamel ventured to ask.
"I'm sorry, but it can't stay loose. According to our public health rules, animals that come from unknown places are automatically seized and sent to our shelter. Don't worry, your cat shall be very well treated there. And now", the man in white crossed his arms and looked fixedly at the evil sorcerer, "you'd better explain why you were importuning my guests!"
"Please, good sir, I wasn't doing nothing wrong", Gargamel spoke in a moaning voice, pretending a humble look. "I'm only a poor honest wizard who got lost and needs some help!"
"And how did you arrive here?" Mr. Roarke asked, very seriously. "People usually come to Fantasy Island by plane!"
"Oh, that's really a long story, Roarke..." The wizard went on playing his role, among false smiles he was giving in order to look nice. "In fact, I..."
"Watch your tongue! It's MISTER Roarke for you!" Tattoo interfered, upset at that fawning talk.
Gargamel's mask fell down immediately.
"OH, SHUT UP, YOU GARDEN GNOME!!"
And Mr. Roarke also took an attitude. He stood up and stared at the sorcerer with hard eyes.
"NOW LISTEN!!", he replied in a harsh voice. You are not at your home, and I don't admit anybody to offend me or my assistants!" And added: "I'm the chief authority in Fantasy Island and I have powers to have you arrested if you insist on being rude! Be more polite, or else I'll call on the guards right now!"
Gargamel did not wait for that. Frightened, he retook his sweet talk and said:
"Ohhhh, I'm so sorry, my friends", he was feeling a great actor. "Please give me a chance... Just because I'm nervous... Very nervous... I wandered around this place without knowing where to go... I'm so hungry..." Gargamel was quite convinced they would believe him. "And besides, since I'm here in Fantasy Island, I think I can have a fantasy, can't I?"
"Well, it depends", Tattoo replied curtly, still annoyed at those bad manners. "Do you have $50,000 dollars to pay for it?"
"DOLLARS?! WHAT THE HELL ARE 'DOLLARS'?" Gargamel was becoming Gargamel again. But remembered Mr. Roarke's warning and recovered his humble posture:
"I mean... Are these certain 'dollars' any kind of money you use here?"
"Dat's right!"
"B-but... but I haven't any money with me, not even a coin... Still, wait... I can pay you... If you make my fantasy come true, I'll give you something much more valuable than money... " He made a pause and added: Lots of GOLD!"
"And how shall you get it, with a pass of magic?" Tattoo asked sceptically.
"This nosy midget is getting on my nerves", Gargamel thought. But he made an effort to smile - a big one, by the way - and put all the possible sugar in the answer.
"That's simple, my wondering little friend..." He replied through clenched teeth. "All I need is the help of you all to catch those nasty Smurfs... So that I'll make gold of them! Did you understand, little darling?"
Well! What can result from this strange dialogue? So... 'Til the next pics shall be finished... Bye for now! ![[Wink]](wink.gif)

SMURFAROO - the story just keeps getting better! And the all of the pictures are fantastic too!!! There are so many great lines in there...

I love the seamless melding of two separate character artstyles in the pictures. Also good to see Gargamel in the scenario.

I love it Squeaky!!!! I love the little flowers and hearts and stuff around Gargamel's speech bubble! I LOVE IT!! Azrael looks so funny in that pet carrier and Gargamel looks great getting caught. And Clumsy is just so cute!!

Mr. Roarke, who was quiet by that time he had warned Gargamel, frowned and put his hand under his chin, in a reflective attitude.
"Smurfs... Smurfs?! Have you ever heard of 'Smurfs', Tattoo?" he asked, turning to his assistant.
"Me?? Oh, no Boss, not at all!" Tattoo replied, very serious (but making a superhuman effort for not to laugh).
"Curious... 'Smurfs'..." Mr. Roarke raised his eyebrows and, for Gargamel's supreme irritation, smiled and asked as innocently as he got to look: "Would you mind telling us what really 'Smurfs' are, Mr. Gargamel?"
"Don't insult my intelligence, Roarke", the mean wizard retook his insolence. "I saw them here, in this place, and I nearly got to take them! They are just here! I SAW!"
"MISTER Roarke, please, I tell you." Tattoo corrected him again.
"Don't mind, Tattoo!" Mr. Roarke intervened, still smiling enigmatically. "Let him talk more about these Smurfs. That's really quite interesting!"
"Oh, you're right, Boss", Tattoo was truly having fun with the situation. "I won't be surprised if I see one of dem here, after all, as you always say, nothing is impossible in Fantasy Island!"
Gargamel was not caring for good manners anymore.
"Well then? Shall you help me find those repellent Smurfs or not?"
"At first you must tell who or what they are, Mr. Gargamel", answered Mr. Roarke, still with a large smile on his face. "After all, what are the Smurfs? Any unknown animal species? A secret society? A basketball team? Or any primitive tribe?"
"Maybe dey are beings from oder planet!" seconded Tattoo.
"These two are making fun of me, no doubt", Gargamel thought, swallowing his anger. "If I could, I'd show'em what happens to someone who dares to mock a powerful wizard such as I!"
But he was in an unknown land among unknown people who could be hostile if he tried something harmful. So, he had to stand it.
"The Smurfs", Gargamel began to describe, "are small and unpleasant blue creatures who live in a village inside a large forest. They are terribly hateful and do nothing that is really worth (at this point Mr. Roarke frowned and Tattoo crossed his arms, looking at the wizard)." And added: "Those good-for-nothing little pests serve only to be eaten, or converted into gold..." he made a pause and ended: "That's why I want you to help me catch them!"
"TO BE EATEN?!!" Tattoo exclaimed astonishingly.
"Do you mean you need the Smurfs to make any gold of them?" asked Mr. Roarke, still acting as if he was hearing from the little blue ones for the first time.
"Exactly! Get me the Smurfs, and once having the gold, I'll pay you for my fantasy!"
Mr. Roarke got silent for a few seconds and took the telefone by his side, starting to dial.
Gargamel insisted on impatiently:
"What now? Shall you give me the fantasy or must I..."
"Shh! Silence, please. De Boss is at the phone!" said Tattoo.
"Please come to my bungalow. I have an unexpected guest and I need you to show him the necessary accommodations." Mr. Roarke rang off and addressed the sorcerer:
"Mr. Gargamel, I've just made some arrangements for you to get installed in Fantasy Island. Please wait for the people in charge, they won't delay."
"Oh, I see!" Gargamel smiled presumptuously. "I knew we'd get along together, Roarke. Surely you called some servants to take me to a special place where I'll be treated according to my special position, didn't you?"
"You can bet!!" replied Tattoo crossly, despite Mr. Roarke's gesture to keep him quiet.
Somebody knocked at the door. Mr. Roarke stood up and opened it. Three employees entered and he indicated Gargamel:
"Thanks for coming. Please show him the way to the kitchen."
"KITCHEN?!! But what am I going to do in a kitchen?" The mean wizard was more startled than wrathful. "I'm a guest, I'm hungry and I want a room! I won't go to-"
Mr. Roarke cut off his phrase with a gesture.
"Sorry, Mr. Gargamel, but you have no conditions to pay for a fantasy, and I can't make any exceptions to anybody; it's against the rules."
"But I've already told you, Roarke! After you realized my fantasy, I'd pay you in gold!"
"No, sorry again, but I don't make any uncertain deals. So, you'll go to work in our kitchen to pay for your stay here." And he turned to the lads: "When you arrive there, ask the cook to serve him a dish and give some service later."
"I suggest you give him a bath before!" Tattoo meddled again (at this moment Mr. Rarke was about to tell him off, but ad to stifle his laugh).
"NO, NO! NOT BATH!" Gargamel started to shout.
"Please, stop it now and come along with us!" said one of the men, holding his arm.
The sorcerer still wanted to argue:
"But I'm a guest, you - let me go!! - you can't do this to me!"
"Don't make things more difficult to you, Mr. Gargamel", replied Mr. Roarke severely. "You'd better go with them now."
"No, I won't! I need to catch those miserable Smurfs!" The employees left the room taking Gargamel, not caring about his angry yells and protests. "I'll get them, Roarke, do you hear me? I'll get those blue demons within or without your help! I'LL GET THEM!!"
Tattoo closed the door quickly, sighing with relief. He came to Mr. Roarke, who sat at his table.
"Boss, what a constraining situation. So dis is de wicked sorcerer dat wants to capture de Smurfs at any cost!"
"That's right, Tattoo", answered Mr. Roarke, with a frowned look. "But if you think well, it was good what happened a short time ago now. It served just to show what kind of person he is."
"One more reason to keep dem far away from here, Boss!"
"Yes, my friend!" he replied, still upset. "I'm really convinced that we did the right thing!"
"Do you remember what Gargamel said? He wanted de Smurfs to eat, sacre bleu!"
"And to make gold of them, too."
"But, Boss! Such a weird fantasy, don't you think so?"
"I think I understand why he wants to realize it so much, Tattoo..."
"Do you, Boss??" Tattoo looked at him in astonishment. "How come?"
"That's only a hunch", Mr. Roarke explained. "Being a sorcerer, he probably knows a formula to make gold which needs some Smurfs as ingredients. I'm not quite sure, so that I'll ask Papa Smurf about this the next time when I meet them."
"Oh, I imagine it, Boss! But I can't accept de idea of eating Smurfs. What a horrid thing to be done!"
"Well, Tattoo, let's see: why formerly did some tribes from tribes from Africa, South America and South Sea Islands use to devour their enemies?"
"Because dey believed dey would obtain de enemies' qualities! But what does it have to do with de Smurfs?"
"So then! He must think they have special powers or something like thay."
"Hmph, I understand it now. Den I was right, Boss", Tattoo crossed his arms and frowned. "Dat man is really dangerous!"
Seeing his little assistant was still worried, Mr. Roarke opened his usual smile.
"Come on, Tattoo! No pessimism now. After all our little blue guests are safe yet."
"Yes, but after all dat happened, I am..."
"Let's forget that mean wizard for a while. It's beginning to get dark now, so you'd better go now and rest, my friend. Remember, tomorrow is another day!"
And night fell soon, taking worries and problems away for a certain time.
So that's it!! It seems our dear little blue guys are really safe and warm in Fantasy Island.
So... what might happen later? Well... until then!

Next morning, which promised to be a fine day, Mr. Roarke was leaving his cottage. Tattoo met him at the porch, making his usual greeting:
"Good morning, Boss!"
"Good moring, Tattoo!"
"Anoder day of fantasies, right?"
"Well, Tattoo, I hope so!"
Julie approached them.
"Good morning, Mr. Roarke! Tattoo!"
"Good morning, Julie!"
"Good morning!"
"Pardon my curiosity, Mr. Roarke, but... I wonder if you intend to visit any of your guests today?"
Mr. Roarke smiled heartily at his god-daughter.
"Yes."
"And are they special guests?"
"My dearest Julie, very special ones, indeed!" He made a gesture to emphasize his reply.
"Ohhh..." Julie couldn't hide her disappointment.
Tattoo, who was silent listening to the talk all the time, put his hand on his mouth to stifle a laugh.
"Sorry, Julie, but I need you to see if it's alright with Mrs. Summers' fantasy", said Mr. Roarke. "She wanted to be a great opera singer, remember?"
"Oh my, I do! And you also must remember how awful her voice was until you gave her a potion, Mr. Roarke!"
"Bien sûr, she even seemed an out-of-tune cat!"
"What an expression, Tattoo!"
"He is right, Mr. Roarke", seconded Julie. "You asked her to sing a tune before you gave her the elixir and i perceived you were feeling like running away!"
"I know about a Smurf who would love to accompany her singing", Tattoo added playfully. "Such a great combination!"
"Oh, since you mentioned Harmony Smurf, you reminded me something very unusual you tried once, my friend", Mr. Roarke replied while smiling intentionally. "Do you remember when you realized to learn to play the trumpet? I think you two could make a great duo..."
Tattoo didn't find that funny and got quiet, making an upset look.
"Well, I'll visit the Smurfs in a few moments, because at first I must provide the plants for Papa Smurf's potions. So don't get disheartenend, Julie, next time you'll go with me, that's a promise."
The young woman almost jumped at her godfather's neck, so happy she got.
"Oh, thanks, Mr. Roarke!!"
At Fantasy Island Smurf village:
Papa Smurf left his mushroom house and looked at upwards, smiling. He breathed deeply, aspiring the pure air and smiled again, pleased, admiring the limpid blue sky and watching the birds flying in an unworried way. He got happy for feeling so well and thanked mentally Mother Nature for all he was getting at that moment. Even the trouble with Gargamel was forgotten.
"Aaaahhh, what a lovely smurfy day! I'm feeling 400 years younger... I slept as I had never done it before!"
"Me too, Papa Smurf", Smurfette approached him. "You know, I'm feeling so free here in Fantasy Island as if in our original village!"
"You're right, Smurfette", seconded Handy, who also had left his house. "I feel just the same, so safe in this place!"
