I have a very strong interest in reading the original comics by Peyo. I've found a few on Amazon, but the prices were a bit out of my budget.
Any chance they get reprinted for the 50th anniversary or something like that?
Any other suggestions?

Are any of these comics in English? I've never had the chance to see any of these comics either and would love to get my hands on them. I would prefer them in digital format to save in my computer, though.

Some of them are and good luck trying to find them. There hasn't been a reissue of the books in almost twenty plus years.
The last one I got was Johan and Peewit's The Black Arrow in 1995. The rest I found on E-Bay.
Hopefully when the movie comes out the comics will be available by an US distributor. Including the ones released overseas.

I know what you mean. Ever since 1990 or so anything to do with the Smurfs disappeared from retail in this country. Yet in Europe, Smurfs are still in mainstream everywhere and never left like the Looney Toons here in our country. I'm quite jealous, but I'm sure this movie will bring Smurfs back into the market all over again, I mean it just has to.

The only constant thing up until a few months ago was the TV show on Boomerang. But with the DVDs coming out hopefully the books won't be far behind.
The first only book about Johan and Peewit was published by Fantasy Flight Publishing Inc.
