Hi Everyone! I found Bluebuddies while searching for a Smurfette costume and I am glad I did. I enjoy the site very much and return often. I have rekindled a long lost fondness with the smurfs now that I am making my teenage daughter into Smurfette. We are having so much fun! I will share pictures as soon as I can. Bibbitt Smurf

Greetings, fellow Smurf fans!
I've been considering registering here for a while now, and today I decided why not!
So: introductions... I'm Rowena, and my love for Smurfs goes back to my earliest childhood. In fact, when I was little and had no money for presents, I used to write my sister Smurf stories for her birthday - and I still write her Smurf stories now and then. You can see some of my stories at: http://www.fanfiction.net/u/526713/Rowena_Zahnrei
My sister likes Smurfette, by my favorite Smurf is and always has been Brainy!
Recently, I worked out an original pattern for life-sized (3 apples high) crochet Smurfs! Here's a picture of my handmade Jokey Smurf!
I'd love to know your opinion of him!
Smurf you later! ~Rowena

Hi! Thanks so much! I'm so happy you like him! Jokey's the only one I've made with hands so far, but I plan to work them into my Smurf pattern from now on. I made Jokey as a birthday request, but I've made lots of other crochet Smurfs. I made a Brainy for me, a Smurfette for my sister, and a Grouchy for a friend. In fact, if you're interested, you can see pictures of my Hefty, Papa Smurf, and Sassette dolls here: http://www.etsy.com/shop/RowenaZahnreiCrafts?ref=si_shop

Thanks again for the welcome! ~Rowena ![[Graduate Smurf]](graemlins/graduate.gif)

Welcome, Bibbitt and Rowena! Glad to have you join us!!
I really like your crochet Smurfs, Rowena! Very cool. How long does it take you, on average, to make one?

Hi! Thanks!
On average, it takes me between 3-4 days to crochet a Smurf...more for Smurfette because of her dress and hair. I'm really glad you like them!

Welcome, Unhappy Smurf. Sorry to hear about your niece's broken Smurfs. Have you tried gluing their arms back on?

Hi again, Smurf fans!
To answer your question, Sassette, I haven't made a Gargamel doll yet, but I did just finish an Azrael doll! Here he is:

A Gargamel doll would be a real challenge, though. Maybe I'll try him next!

Oh, Rowena, what a delightful job! Despite the expression Azrael looks very cute, and Sassette gets even to ride it at the end! And a smurfy welcome to Hefty's Girl, Unhappy Smurf (hope to see you happier soon) and Uncle Gargy too! ![[Gargamel]](graemlins/gargamel.gif)
