I have the Smurfs Partytime record and I was wondering if there was a way to get the songs into a digital format. I really want to get an mp3 of "The Man in the Moon" and "Purple Peter". Is this possible or does anyone have a digital format of these songs.
Thank you

Basically hook up a record player from its audio output jacks or a headphone jack into your computer's line input jack, using whatever necessary audio cables and adapters you may need to do so. Then you need an audio recorder program to record the sound input from the record player onto a computer audio file. My best bets as far as such programs, if you're using Windows, is CDex and Audiograbber, where you can record audio straight into an auto-saving audio file.

Hooking a record player directly to the computer sound card may be a problem, though. Most record players have a powered output that cannot be inputed into a standard line input. There are record players that are still manufactured today, however, that have an option to switch the output to a standard line output. My dad has picked one up at Best Buy in December of 2002. So, unless you have a record player that can be switched to a standard line output, you would need a stereo amp that has an input for a phonograph and output the amp from the line output into the line input into the computer. If any of this makes sense, you might want to look into this first before you hook up anything.
