Wales Rugby Smurf vs British Lions Rugby Smurf
The Wales and British Lions Rugby Smurfs are almost identical, except the socks of Wales are red and the British Lions Smurf's socks are green. Why does the British Lions Smurf not feature amongst the Rugby Smurfs? (The British Lions toured South Africa in 1980)

1980's Rugby Smurfs from South Africa
South Africa Springbok & British Lions Rugby Teams
In 1980, the British Lions Rugby Team toured South Africa. There were two Rugby Smurfs sold in South Africa by BP to coincide with the tour.
1) South African Rugby Smurf - green shirt & socks / yellow collar / white shorts
2) British Lions Rugby Smurf - red shirt / white shorts / green socks

As listed by BlueBuddies, in addition to the standard 20065 Rugby Smurf figurine with red shorts and a yellow shirt, there are eight variants to show the different team colors.

Ireland
France
South Africa
British Lions
New Zealand
In addition to the listed Team Rugby Smurfs, there is a Rugby Smurf with a dark blue shirt, white shorts and red socks. However, no team is associated with these exact colors. Although one could wonder if it could represent Italy, the socks would be blue not red (as mentioned by Squeaky). So the team remains unknown for this color variation.
