Can anyone think of a story where a Smurf other than Papa Smurf is empowered to come up with a solution to deal with the story's problem? I can think of "Foul Weather Smurf" from the cartoon show where, instead of Papa Smurf, it was Handy who came up with the idea of turning Brainy's umbrella into a kite to fly into the sky and attract a lightning bolt to strike enough electricity into the weather-smurfing machine to destroy it.

In The Aerosmurf, it was The Flying Smurf that rescued Smurfette from Gargamel all by himself. Papa Smurf wasn't event in the story.
In Smurfony in C (Cartoon and Comic), Harmony defeated Gargamel all by himself.
In The Smurf paint, Handy with the help of Harmony defeated Gargamel.

Some more examples I can think of:
"Papa's Wedding Day" (cartoon show): The Smurfs come up with the plan of rescuing Papa Smurf from Lord Balthazar with the help of Flowerbell.
"Smurfily Ever After" (cartoon show): Laconia and Smurfette come up with the idea of pelting Gargamel's Ghoulliope with bits of wedding cake and then stopping up the boiling cauldron with rice.
"Forget Me Smurfs" (cartoon show): Sickly gets Mother Nature to turn the weather cold again to kill off the Forget Me Flowers that even Papa Smurf falls victim to.
"Can't Smurf Progress" (comic books): Handy and Farmer both come up with the idea of filling a female robot with termites so that they could destroy the other robotic servitors.
