Hi Kenny - welcome to bluebuddies!
There is a collection of "new" re-released Schleich Smurf figures at Toys R Us right now. Each Smurf figurine comes packaged on a card. The year the Smurf originally came out is marked on the card. The card also has a sticker that reads, "Only at Toys R Us". The figures currently sell in the stores for $4.99 each.
They didn't just pick one Smurf to represent each year. Certain years have a few different Smurfs. There are Smurf figures to represent each decade (1960's - 2000s).
Here are some pictures I took of the Smurfs on the toy store shelf and also a close-up picture of one of the Smurfs - the Mailman Smurf.

Hope this helps!

The more I look at these the more I think they are just some individually packaged members of the decade boxes... don't get me wrong, still nice when you don't want to shell out money for the whole box or just need to replace a figure or two, but I sure wish they'd rerelease some other figures that are harder to come by... Still, got me a Spy Smurf anyway

Some interesting pieces of information (I haven't bought them all so I don't know all of the "official" names). What we think of as Spy Smurf is listed as Conspirator Smurf on the back of the card. And Farmer Smurf is Farmer Smurf with Skythe.

I love that Spy Smurf - he's always been one of my favorites! Very interesting about the "official" names. I would love to create a list of the official names! More to come...

I think it is interesting that these Toys R Us (TRU) Smurf figurines are numbered differently than the official Schleich catalog numbers. The number is located on the front bottom left side of the TRU card.
For example, the Papa Smurf figurine from 1969 is numbered 21000 on the TRU card but is 20001 in the Schleich catalog.

List of Toys R Us Exclusive Smurfs Figures: (by TRU card number & name)
21000 Papa Smurf 21001 Normal Smurf 21002 Furious Smurf (Black Smurf) 21003 Conspirator Smurf 21004 Drummer Smurf 21005 Postman Smurf 21006 Doctor Smurf 21007 Chef Smurf 21008 Ballerina Smurfette 21009 Gardener Smurf with Rake 21010 Farmer Smurf with Skythe 21011 Clumsy Smurf 21012 Swimmer Smurf 21013 Sprinter Smurf 21014 Aerobic Smurfette 21015 Golfer Smurf 21016 Climber Smurf 21017 Goal Keeper Smurf 21018 Substitute Smurf 21019 Key Player Smurf 21020 Fan Smurfette 21021 Manager Smurf 21022 Basketball Smurf 21023 Smurf with Cake
These are the "official" names listed on the back of the TRU card.
Here is an example of the official name that TRU gave the Goalkeeper Smurf figure. It shows the name in several languages on the back of the package.
Torwart Goal keeper Smurf Schtroumpf gardien de but Pitufo guardameta Puffo Portiere
TRU 21023 Smurf with Cake Made in Germany (c)'77 Peyo
Here is an example of how the Smurf figures are marked. The TRU 21023 Smurf with Cake was originally released in 1977 so that date is shown on Cake Smurf as "(c)'77 Peyo". And the figures were all made in Germany.

It's also worth mentioning that the US Toys R Us did not sell the 21002 "Furious Smurf" Black Smurf. Only the European countries and Australia sold the black Smurf. I guess Americans are more "politically correct"?

Too bad they didn't release a purple Smurf... that would have been an interesting addition to the figurines.

The USA Toys R Us did, however, sell a black Smurf as part of the 1960s Edition Smurf Box Set (it was the different mold). Why they would release the black Smurf in the box set and omit it as a single figure is beyond me... go figure?

You're right, Sassette and Smurfy; it seems the people who arrange the sets don't pay attention to this detail. Here's the same set with the other Angry Smurf model. I wonder if it's a non-USA 1960s Schleich Smurfs Box Set?

TRU figures missing the "only at Toys 'R Us" sticker are the common versions of the carded year figurines.
The "only at Toys 'R Us" label packages are the most complete version for collecting TRU carded figures. The sticker itself makes these particular figurines the most emblematic of the TRU exclusives.
The TRU stickers are not always applied to the same area on the package. It is the mere presence of the sticker that matters when collecting.
