Great update Sassette!!! The Astrosmurf story must be popular because both Papercutz and Simon Spotlight publishers have/are re-releasing the story. Interesting they changed the title to Astro Smurf Blasts Off.

Peyo Creations has been releasing novelized versions of the original Smurfs comic book stories in French, one of which I have is based on "The Black Smurfs" with modern artwork.

"Smurfette And The Beast" would make for a great Blu-Ray/DVD bonus feature for The Smurfs 2 if DUCK Studios is willing to do another one for the fans.

Oh yeah, Benoit Brisefer, otherwise known as Steven Strong. It's not really "new", just made known public after years of mostly appearing in foreign languages.
Of course, it does make me wonder what they would call the character of Peyo's cartoon strip Poussy without it being the target of every nasty joke that exists in the minds of perverted readers.

Always a pleasure to read his works! But i have to say i was jumping up and down when i saw the Benoit Brisefer comics from Papercutz! (But I prefer Benoit Brisefer over benny or steven) He shared a lot of similarity between Fujiko F Fujio:Perman, except Benoit doesn't wear cape and helmet like Mitsuo kun! Loved this kind of "everyman's superhero" idea since i was a kid!

Benoit Brisefer wasn't peyo's new series released its first comic since 1960.

It appears that Papercutz has changed the cover artwork for The Smurfs Anthology #1 and #2. Here are some pictures to show the side-by-side comparisons of the alternate covers.
The Smurfs Anthology #1 - Alternate Covers
The original artwork is on the left, the new cover art is on the right. The Smurfs Anthology #1 is not released until June 25, 2013 so I guess we'll see if there are any more changes! This is not the first time that Papercutz has changed cover art - take a look HERE.

The Smurf Anthology #2 - Alternate Covers
The new cover (on the right) has a lot of changes! The dressed-up Smurfs are replaced by Smurfette, Papa and a line of Smurfs. I have to admit I quite liked the dressed-up Smurfs! But the new cover is really nice.

Thanks for showing us the difference Sassette! I don't think I would have ever noticed but I think the changes make the covers better when I look at them.

The "dressed-up Smurfs" are actually Reporter Smurf from the Smurfs comic book story of the same name in successive panels trying out different outfits that Tailor Smurf suggested he would wear to make him stand out so he could get access to stories.

New Smurf Book Due
I just found a new Smurf book due to be released in the U.S. in July.
 SMURFS VOL 16 AEROSMURF (07/31) TPB: $5.99; HC: $10.99
In stores as the new movie comes out! Flying Smurf has never given up on his dreams of being the first Smurf in the sky, and this time he's enlisted the help of Handy Smurf to make that dream a reality! Unfortunately for everyone else, Flying Smurf and his new flying machine prove to be a disastrous combination, especially to Smurfette's garden. When she steals away for a few moments of peace and quiet, Gargamel snatches her away and sends a ransom note to The Smurfs village. With the whole village in despair, it's up to Flying Smurf to set everything right . . . but Gargamel's evil scheme is only just beginning. It looks like this rescue mission will be one Smurf of a bumpy ride!"

So besides The Aerosmurf and that Smurfs Christmas special book, there's nothing else coming this year from Papercutz. Pity, because I'm hoping to get some news on when The Finance Smurf is coming out.
