That's why I kept to myself a lot. I never had too many friends who shared my idea of fun.

No, you don't look like you were asking for it. When I saw that picture to me it looks like a nice kid. Shame other meaner kids have to prey on the nicer ones. Oh well, we appreciate your interest at least. SMURFS RULE!!!!!

I had a stuffed Smurf toy back in the early 1980s -- but it ended up being in somebody else's hands in a matter of days. I would have found it rather embarrassing to have, compounding the problems I already had with nasty idiots teasing me about my various problems at St. Vincent's Home in Fall River, MA which was where I lived and went to school for 4 1/2 years of my teenage life. That was where I began writing Smurf fanfiction, and where Empath had his genesis as a character, serving as a sort of proxy to my situation of living away from my family during those years.

This is really nasty. People always stick their nose in one's tastes or one's way of being. At my pre-teens the Smurfs weren't known here in Brazil yet, but if so, I'm quite sure that at least someone would criticize me for that. ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

I didn’t really watch the Smurfs much when I was little. I fell in love with the 2011 movie and the fandom started there. TV, movies, games, etc.
