During my down time of trying to complete "Empath Goes Wild", I have worked on and finished another EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf short story called "Days Of Auld Lang Smurf", a story set around the time of New Year's Eve which revolves around the mysterious return of Papa Smurf's fellow Smurfs and what this reunion means for the other Smurfs and the village -- but is this reunion really what it appears to be? Right now it's posted at my website, at FanFiction.net, and at my EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf Yahoo eGroup.
Here's an image that goes along with the story:

As far as imagining voices for the various parent Smurf characters for this short story:
Lillithina (Papa Smurf's wife) - Jennifer Lien (Kes of Star Trek: Voyager) Aristotle (Brainy's father) - possibly Avery Brooks (Captain Sisko of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine) Pranky (Jokey's father) - possibly Ethan Phillips (Neelix of Star Trek: Voyager) Seamus (Tapper's father) - possibly Colm Meaney (Chief O'Brien of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine)

NEWS UPDATE: Chapter 9 of "Days Of Auld Lang Smurf" has been updated with an additional paragraph to end the story now with the Smurflings and Polaris Psyche going full circle with the snowball fight incident.

A storyboard scene taking place the morning following the mysterious return of the "parent Smurfs" -- something you won't find in any Smurf cartoon episode:

A second storyboard that concludes Papa Smurf's being with his wife Lilly (at least for the time being) and his now meeting with Seamus Smurf (Tapper's father):

This is really cool, I like where this is going. Can't wait to see more. I'd like to see what the other smurf parents look like.

The one thing I want to do is do some panels of Chlorhydris the witch, observing Empath through her magic telescope and deciding to use her evil spell to make these "parent Smurfs" come to life.

The whole story, which is on my website as well as on FanFiction.net and my EMPATH eGroup site, is basically about a mysterious reunion Papa Smurf and his little Smurfs have with their loved ones -- the "parent Smurfs", who are all Papa Smurf's fellow Smurfs -- who had passed away 102 years ago, according to when the story takes place. They originally assume that the "parent Smurfs" were somehow transported in time to the present from the moment of their deaths. But as Smurfette, the boy Smurflings, and Polaris Psyche find out, the reunion isn't what it appears to be, and they must find out what's causing Papa Smurf and the other Smurfs, including Empath, to believe that this reunion is really happening. It's called "Days Of Auld Lang Smurf" because the story happens around New Year's Eve.

This storyboard's out of sequence, because it happens prior to the mysterious return, but nonetheless important. It's Empath and Papa Smurf after Empath finds out what Papa Smurf's been doing in the Imaginarium during his nights away from his little Smurfs:

Backing this up a bit; Papa Smurf admits to spending his nights in the Imaginarium when he should have been available to his little Smurfs:

To add to the list of voices of who I imagine would do for the parent Smurfs:
Baker Smurf (Greedy's father) -- possibly Dwight Schultz (Lt. Reginald Barclay from Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Voyager) Muscles Smurf (Hefty and Handy's father) -- possibly Rene Auberjonois (Odo from Star Trek: Deep Space 9); rather fitting since he already did a guest character voice in an actual Smurfs episode.

Smurfling Island? So that's where you had Baby Smurf come from? Pretty cool concept, it would be interesting to explore this further on why the adult Smurfs at that place would send off their young.
I wonder if the film will explain this, because according to an article the film is looking to fill in plot holes. You got to admit, the stork bringing in Baby Smurf is a pretty darn big plot hole.

According to the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf fanfiction novel, the boy Smurflings also came from Smurfling Island, which is supposed to be the Smurf analog of Neverland from the Peter Pan mythos -- and to Empath was nothing more than a mere story at first.
quote: Natural told Empath about the real Smurfling Island they came from...which, to Empath's surprise, matched the description of it from the storybook. On that island, there were both Smurflings and adult Smurfs that never aged for centuries. At first it was paradise, but then in time the children and the adults began to fight each other before they separated, the children becoming the Lost Smurflings and the adults becoming pirates and other hideous outlaws. One of the Smurflings became their leader and hero Smurfling Pan, who repeatedly took on the infamous Captain Smurfhook, the dreaded pirate king. Neither Pan nor Smurfhook got the upper hand over each other, though Smurfhook did lose his hand to Pan, and their lives became a never-ending series of childhood adventures.
"Baby Smurf came from that island as well, the first one born on Smurfling Island," Natural continued. "We rescued him from his pirate parents, but he could never grow up and become a Smurfling on that island. So we smurfed him by stork across the ocean to the Smurf Village where he could be raised."
"But we weren't gonna let these grown-up Smurfs turn the little tyke into a grown-up Smurf as well," Snappy interrupted, "so we followed Baby to this village. It took us longer to get here, since the magic that made us fly lasted until we smurfed the shore, but we made it and we even smurfed Puppy along from wherever he came from."
"Thing was," Slouchy broke in, "by the time we got to the Smurf Village, we had the urge to stay here. Maybe we just wanna grow up with Baby, or maybe we were so bored of Smurfling Island, but we knew we couldn't go back there."
Again, these stories take place outside the normal "continuity" of the Smurf cartoon and comic book universes.

This is really good. Have you considered sorting these into the correct order, filling in the blanks, and re-releasing the story in comic form?
